Faylinn Night "You see, I was born to a woman named Nerida. She was then the queen of the Faerie Courts and was loved dearly by everyone, even those not from the Faerie Kingdom.
"No one knew it then, but I was not the child of the King. As it is with most royal families, it was decided who my mother would marry even before she was born. Her betrothed was called Sindri and he mistreated my mother greatly. All he cared for was becoming king. He was one of the few corrupt faeries of the court, yet he was a master at faking emotions; so no one believed my mother when she told of what evils he planned to do. My grandfather had her marry him anyway.
"There was one man in my mother's life that did believe her, a foreign warrior and my father, Kheelan. I--I was always told that he was merely a close friend of the family. For the longest time I called him my uncle. Heh, I bet it killed my mother whenever I called him that instead of 'father.' Even as a child, I could sense she cared deeply for him--far more so than my other 'father.' "My mother would always keep me busy. I was estranged towards Sindri and that was the way my mother wished it to be. It was how she protected me from him. Then there came a day when she could not be there to protect me.
"Evaluation are mandatory for princess and princes when they reach the age of thirteen. My mother could fight many things, but tradition was not one of them. Those tests...I barely remember them. What I do remember is that they hurt and I wanted my mother.
"Afterwards...there was a large fight. The King was outraged, my mother clung to me, and Kheelan, my father, stood in front of us, his sword drawn. By attacking the Faerie King, he risked starting a war just to ensure our lives...and...I never saw him again...
"My mother took me away then. I remember she was crying hard, repeating my father's name. She led me expertly though tunnels I had never before seen. It was as if she had practiced running through them many times before. Perhaps she had planned to smuggle me out and be with my father all along. I cannot say for certain...
"We were able to escape the Faerie Court with the help of my own betrothed Durin and my mother revealed everything to me. About Sindri, her affair, and why I hurt so much after the tests. I am half elf; the tests were made to be harmless to faerie, but lethal to foreign blood. My elven blood had reacted violently, causing my body to shut down. My mother, however, was able to help.
"Perhaps to some it does not seem so...but children...whose mothers die because of complications from birth...always feel so--so responsible for their deaths. I--I--It was because of my Elven blood my mother died. Bearing the child of another species was not meant for the faerie's body. It poisoned her...made her very ill...On my sixteenth birthday...she died." How I Found This Shop: One day Faylinn woke up feeling empty inside. For days this feeling lasted until she finally pin-pointed its meaning. The characters she had created and loved some much were hidden in the dark and she wanted others to feel the thrill of reading about them and drawing them themselves. One bright Gaia day she flew into the Art Freebies market and set up her own stand, hoping to have a long, eventful, and exciting time, receiving art, trading art, and giving art herself.
