There's a bunch of fires going on here in my city. The radio said four or five. I can smell the smoke even in here with my window shut, you can smell it even better outside. The smoke is so thick it looks like storm clouds. I was up at the library in the town next to mine and there were white ashes around. They were blowing on the breeze and one hit my face and some got in my boots. They smell like fire too, which I think means they could start a fire if they wanted too. I asked my mom if we would need to evacuate, she said no. The fires are too far up in the mountains. My friend Devan might need to get out though, I'm not sure. It's so HOT even with the fires so far away. The smoke covering the sun is supposed to make the Earth cool down, right?
