Past, Present, Remembrance.

I look down,
Scattered traces of the past,
Lay upon my bed.

Broken fragments,
Old remains,
Things covered with dust and memories.

I close my eyes,
Fighting off tears,
Looking back,
Remembering the past.

The memories are clear,
So clear,
I feel like I'm right there,
Reliving my memories,
Reliving the past.

The memory starts to fade,
A dark cloud forms over,
The happy memories that were there,
Covering them up once again,
With the present day lies.

Now the past is but a pleasant memory,
One to never be forgotten,
Always to be remembered,
But not to be lived in.

Love the past,
Live in the present,
Never hide,
In the arms of the shadows.
