A Best Friend
With her you shared laughs
You shared secrets and tears
You still have memories of dressing like twins in 4th grade,
Of playing at recess,
Of hiding under her bed, laughing.
With her you had fights
And even parted away
But in the end always came back
Forgetting and forgiving.
She was dear to you
And you were dear to her too
At lest you thought so
But then you saw her
Slowly go away
And you try to pull back,
Not wanting it to end.
Now she's gone, she has anpther best friend
And you feel guilty because
You were mean to her
But you know
She was mean to you too
And it was her choice to leave
That she didn't care for you enough
To try to solve things
That even if those fatal words hadn't come out of your mouth (or pen)
That it would have happened anyway.
What a best friend.
