She was standing there
All alone in the dark
Tears in her eyes
A hole in her heart
She was trying to move on
To forget her past
But nothing seemed to help
The pain would always last
She made up her mind
She was getting out
Peace she could never find
Him she couldn’t live without
There was no longer a reason
She had to stay
Never again would she see
A brighter day
The story of her life
Could be told by the scars on her wrists
By the cuts that would never heal
By the pain that was never more real,
Than it was that day.
She stood there
Begging for someone to see
The Hell of which
She wanted to be free
But no one was there
No one seemed to care
They just looked past her
Not giving her a second glance
She walked home
And went to her room
Got what she needed
And went outside, to silence the big "BOOM"
She walked out to the lake
And leaned against the tree
She looked at the swing
Where he used to be
She felt the tears well up in her eyes
She felt her hand go up to head
And she got ready to pull the trigger
But looked up instead
There he stood
His eyes so bright and blue
His smile so bright and big
And at that moment, she then knew.
It was over
The pain and hurt was done
It felt good knowing
She finally found the one.
When he said "Hi,"
It felt like a thousand pounds
Was lifted off her chest
She no longer wanted to cry.
The clouds parted
And the sun came out
She then knew
What life was about.
No matter how hard it gets
Just hold on
For a little while longer
And it will get better
As impossible as it may seem
Just like she did,
