• I ran to my room and locked the door. I was afraid for one of the first times in my life. They were coming to get me. I knew that they could break down the door, but I still felt a litttle more secure. I prepared for the battle.

It all started two days ago when I went to my mother's funeral. My mother was murdered for some unknown reason. No one knew how she was killed, or what killed her. At the funeral, the coffin was closed. I really wanted to see my mother one last time, so I went over and took a peek inside. But she wasn't in there.

"Strange. Something isn't right here." I thought to myself. I went and told my aunt, who I would be living with now, that my mother's body wasn't in the coffin. She just acted as if she hadn't heard me. I just left her and went over into a corner. I waited for ten minutes until the funeral began. When it was over, I started looking for my aunt.

I found her in the exact same place that she was in earlier. I noticed how pretty she looked in the long, black dress that she was wearing. my aunt and I got into her van and started driving toward my old house. We still had to pick up all the stuff.

We pulled into the long driveway and got out of the car. My aunt started looking for the keys to the house in her purse. I ventured toward the front door of the house. It all looked so foriegn now, like I had never even see the house before. My eyes glanced at the window by the door. The blinds were open, but they were closed when we had left. I heard some footsteps heading toward me, but you can't ever hear my aunt's footsteps. But I wasn't afraid. My aunt finally came up to the door and unlocked it. We entered the house.
