Chapter Four: The Journey Ahead
After the tournament, the elven boy came to and chased Connor down through the bustling nameless city. Connor eventually went down an alley and pinned the elf to a wall. "What do you desire so intently boy? Please tell me you don't intend to wound me," Connor said, with both malice and honesty. "I-I was j-just wondering what your n-name was, noble kn-knight...." the boy quivered, nearly soiling himself. Connor released him and decided he was no threat, so he invited him to a celebratory dinner. He said yes, after looking himself over and realizing how scrawny he was. At said celebration, the elf boy slowly got to know Connor's family. "I should introduce myself.... I am Rowan." the elfin boy said. Connor, in deep thought as he usually is, totally missed this, while Zack answred with a warm welcome.. "What could be the evil-doer's motive... maybe they were after our grain and vast library... or worse.... after the power locked within me...." Slowly, Connor stopped the cart. Shortly after the halt. they got out and went to the fabled Mountain of Revelations, as the map they purchased had shakily drawn. He remembered Nicolaus's words... "The Mountain of Revelations is the test of each of our human souls' worth. If you fail your soul is devoured... if you pass you are a champion of a god chosen by your soul's intentions." As he remembered his brother's words, he felt his own soul pulsing. Resonating. Like he was destined to come here. He had to try... even if he failed... at least the memory of his kin would be left with his body...
Chapter Five: Risks Needed to be Taken
"WHAT?!?" Rowan exclaimed. "REVELATION MOUNTAIN?!? THAT'S SUICIDE!!!" Connor just shook him off and sternly told his, "If you think the gods will give us their blessing through pointless prayer, then you are just as blind as the men at our village who denied the fact that dangers could have come from sin! I have to absolve my people, by dying or not!" Rowan was shocked at first, but hardened his gaze afterwards. "Then I believe I am with you... captain." Rowan said with a much more stern tone. Zack ran up to the two and interjected, "I wanna help too. I can fight Connor, and just as well and Rowan! Please?" Connor reminisced on the time he spent training his cousin. "Hm... Did your mother agree?" Connor asked with a bit of reluctance. "Hell yeah dude!" Zack's eyes darkened, "well, she KINDA agreed.... barely.... but she did!" Connor smiled. "Then I'd best not get in your way." Zack's heart fluttered as he ran towards the platform at the small peak as a booming voice, almost godlike, sounded. "Please state your purpose!" Rowan immediately replied "We were JUST leaving!" Connor then replied "Ignore Rowan. We are here to prove our worth!" The booming voice spoke back very quickly. "Very well then. It's time for you to go into your spiritual state." Almost directly afterwards they were impaled by mysterious magic swords, their bodies turning to a dormant state. Their souls were floating through the cosmos, when they were teleported to a strange plane where there were a fully stocked armory with weapons and such.
Chapter Six: The First Trial
Connor equipped a full plate suit with a holy longsword. Rowan had a stoic look about him with a nature-attuned gold lined leather suit. His Weapon was a greatbow with arrows. Zack had golden armor and a red headband. His weapon was an ember gladius and a horned red shield. Rowan mumbled, with very little resentment, "Very well then... I'm ready..." Zack spoke quietly "Shiny......SHINY!!!" Connor however was silent. Demons suddenly sprung. Connor slayed five demonic figures with a few well aimed thrusts. Zack was able to kill three with a spinning slash. While he was staggering in a daze, three more leaped into the offensive. Rowan quickly shot each demon where their heart would have been and cried, "GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!" Zack, still dazed and confused, swung at a smaller demon and got his sword caught in it's leg. As he looked up, his face slowly turned from a dazed stare to a terrified grimace. "Uhhhh.... CONNOR!" Zack exclaimed. Connor quickly turned around after cleaving off the head of what looked like some kind of troll and gasped. "How is it that you always get into some deeeeeep s**t when I have to help?" Connor mumbled to himself. He dashed forward, tossing all caution to the wind, and slashed with all of his strength, cleaving a whole foot off. The demon cried and fell head first. Zack and Connor then bombarded the demon with all of their courage and might. After the beast was dead, they cheered with a celtic cheer in unison, "Yes! Bhris muid an Demon de fuath!"
Chapter Seven: On the Brink of Despair
Suddenly, the corpses of the slain demons merged together to a demonic knight in black, forming a huge colossus. Everyone but Connor ran away and used longer ranged attacks. Zack's blazing ash magic and Rowan's arrows were ineffective. the beast swept up all of the heroes, and attempted to crush them. Connor used a technique known as Lay On Hands to singe off a finger, but only to free himself. He frantically looked for a way to free his comrades as Rowan cried "Gwagggh!" and Zack called out "WHAT THE CRAP LET ME GO-OOWAGH!!!"
- Title: Connor Stray: The Demonic Omen
- Artist: ConnorXA
- Description: Chapters 4-7 of this series. A book about the character I made around 3-4 maybe 5 years ago. (at around 9 years old, to explain some crude jokes and gung-ho demeanor) I've made very few changes, and will probably rewrite it on paper and then upload it in place of this. In these chapters the heroes are forced to go through extensive trials to prove their worth.
