• summer smiles to warm my heart
    alas i'm shot by cupids dart
    from angel lips that steal my soul
    take my heart leaving but a hole
    for summer smiles give way to winter frowns
    as did my love upon my angels gown
    beating wings within my ear
    taking with them whats held so dear
    the chime of bells within my head
    alas i see my love is dead
    the darkened light mine eye dost
    shows me whats not meant to be
    within the tomb my soul dost lie
    within the clouds my heart dost fly
    with lifes eternal song at rest
    i now let in unwanted guests
    to take my mind and free my pain
    to twist my world and release my shame
    now with darkened wings i watch at night
    as my angel takes her flight
