HIIIIIIII!!!!
blaugh This is the part when I tell you why I didnt update my journal like...at all last week. My cousin was over for the better half of it. That's why. No more explanation.
SO Today you get not one, but two book reviews to make up for the lack of last weeks.
FIRST UP IS:
10 Things to Do Before You're 16 By: Caroline Plaisted
Beth and Anna (who are strangely like me and my bff, CookkiesAtTheDisco(check her out)) are 15. On the night of Beth's 15 birthday, they make a list of things to do before they're 16, including get great hair, get wonderful tans, and get two hot boyfriends. Now fast foward 9 months. Beth and Anna are turning 16 very soon, and they havent done anything on the list. So in a rush to beat time the two get jobs and many many other things. By Beth's 16th birthday they have it all planned. Except the boyfriend thing...
Rating:5 stars! Comments: Overall, a super terrific book! I dont suggest reading it if you're a dude though...not cool.
AAAAND NEXT ON THE LIST:
The Outsiders by: S.E. Hinton
Ponyboy(yeah, that's his real name. His brother is Sodapop sooo)Curtis always relies on his gang a.k.a. 'Greasers' and his brothers. There's Two-Bit, Dally, Darry, Soda, Steve, Johnny, Tim Shepard's gang, and the girls. They're enemies? The Socs. A.k.a. the rich kids who jump them just because they're bored. Once, they got Johnny so bad that he cried. And Johnny NEVER cries. In this story about basically, courage, somebody goes over the edge and Ponyboy has to go on the run with them. Cherry Valance, a girl Soc that Ponyboy meets along the way becomes a spy for the Greasers when the Socs and the Greasers are ready for the biggest rumble of their lives. A great story for most people.
Rating: 4 1/2 stars Comments: This was my summer reading book for school, it's set in the 1950's or the 1960's in a beat up old town with gangs and street fights all the time. I enjoyed it, but I didnt think I would. I'll re-read it near the time school starts, just so i can get into it again, but I think that last year's summer reading 'Where the Red Fern Grows' was better. 4laugh
Keep an eye out for next week when I might have 'New Moon' byt Stephanie Meyer. Maybe... It depends on if CookkiesAtTheDisco gives it to me in time hehehe
toodles
