If there are any british in here, please don't take this the wrong way, but you are so funneh when you're angry!! I had an escalated call today that basically went something like this:
Me (after verifying the cellphone account and finding out the problem): "Well, ma'am, I do not see that there has been a payment made on the account any more recent than March 18."
Caller (southern accent): "You know what, I'm going to put my husband on the phone, he was the one that made the payment."
(rustling in the back ground as phone is handed over and a brief arguement)
Caller's husband (brittish accent): "Hello?"
Me: "Sir, as I was telling your wife, there does not to be any payments on the account since March 18."
Caller's husband: "Bloody hell! I paid the bill using my credit card on April 25 through your internet service!"
Me: "Did you get a confirmation number?"
Caller's husband: "If I didn't get a bloody confirmation number, I'd have made the payment again and I wouldn't be calling you!"
Me: "Well sir, if the transaction happened, it would also appear on your credit card report."
Caller's husband: "Look, if you can't tell, I'm from England. It takes bloody six weeks for me to get my credit card report!"
The call basically went down the drain from there as he threatened to cancel if this happened in the future, that he wasn't going to be paying the past due and if the account suspended then he'll let it suspend and won't reconnect it.
He hung up before i could get a word in--if the account cancelled, then he'd have to pay a $200 cancellation fee per line that is on contract. He has 5 lines that are all about 8 months in on a 24 month contract--he's looking at a $1000 contract termination fee. blaugh
