Nestled in a bed of tissue inside the newly opened gift box was an even smaller surprise. With shaky fingers I gently lifted the golden box up and away from the tissue that surrounded it. "A box inside a box? How intriguing," I murmured to the man sitting to my right. "Yes, my sweet, I know that you love a good intrigue," he replied with a gentle smile. I returned the smile, yet could not bring myself to open the final box. I feared the contents, for I knew what was hidden inside. "Allow me," he said as he gently grasped the golden box and removed it from my shaking hands. "Thank you for the assistance, my love. My hands shake with the excitement that I cannot contain," I said softly as I folded my hands in my lap. My eyes remained trained on the tiny box in his hands as I waited with bated breath for him to unveil the contents.
Just something a bit random that popped into my head today.
