Sage Winters
+Prologue+
Crimson dripping from his wrist, as I stare trying to control the overwhelming scent of his blood.
"It's just a small wound."
He managed from his dreamy lips. His face so angelic for a mortal, how could such a being have such a face? That may have been why I loved him so.
"I must take leave, it's been a long night Edward."
I turned away from my angel of darkness. Just as my face was disappearing from sight he caught my chin in his pale, yet warm, hands.
"Until tomorrow then. Oh and I meant to ask earlier if you would like to meet my parents?"
How could I say no to such a face? His angelic smile spreading across his pale lips, twin blotches of rose spreading out into his cheeks, his dreamy amber eyes, and his dark auburn hair. This was the mortal I had clumsily fallen for.
"Of course! I would love to meet them."
As I said before how could I say no to this angelic dark prince among a world of mortals? He made me crazy! The sweet scent of his crimson blood intoxicated me. The angelic look in his face, the warmth from his body, the fragile beating of his heart, his amazing smile that made my cold heart beat once more. He was my addiction and my everything.
Why a mortal you ask? Well that shall be known soon enough.
+Chapter One+
There I stood in the cemetery of my past, the rain pouring down over head. If you were wondering I am Sage Winters, a vampire, and this is the story of my immortality.
My parents were murdered by a clan of vampires residing within London called "Clan De Mort." When I was about ten this 'clan' raided our home. They didn't have it in their hearts - what was left of it - to kill two young vampires. Those two vampires were my dear brother Alexander and I.
We buried our parents in the cemetery before us. It's been nine years since my beloved parents were irrationally murdered. Now, on this day - The thirtieth of October in two thousand and five - we take our leave to the Americas to live in our estate within Seattle.
You see when our parents were murdered they left us with centuries of treasures, money, estates, and aliases to live amongst the mortals.
Two weeks have passed since our move to Seattle. Nothing has changed drastically except our new mansion looks much more like the ones in horror movies rather than the fairy tale looking one we use to have. I quite like the change to be honest.
Alexander on the other hand prefers the old mansion. He says that the mansion is dull and plain. I wish he wouldn't be such a spoiled brat. He still has yet to accept the change in location as well. He doesn't like it much here in Seattle.
The streets of Seattle are so full of life and excitement during the twilight of my solitude. Never in all my years have I seen such life during this time. The lights illuminate the streets everywhere I seem to wander. It makes me think of the daylight that will soon be approaching.
My first feast since our move was upon an old man about the age of seventy two. This feast was rather refreshing, pushing me slightly over the edge. This caused me to become careless with the body of my sweet and intoxicating meal. This was rather embarrassing for my graceful brother to see.
When it was Alexanders turn to feast he found a small child who was starving in the back streets of the ally. When he drank from her he did so with such talent and graceful movement that I almost felt idiotic! His prey had been slowly drained as if to make the sweetness last. My jealousy began to overwhelm me. I was ashamed to even call myself a vampire after how careless I had just been.
I left Alexander finishing his feast in the ally way as I headed toward home. The entire way there I tried to rid my mind of the graceful killing I has just witnessed. When I had reached the mansion gate there was a young man standing to the left of the unopened gate. His amber eyes pierced right through me.
"Who are you?"
I looked at him puzzled and then restated the question.
"I ask, who..."
He inturupted,
"I am Edward Sterling, I live right down the hill. You are?"
He held out his pale, skinny hand as if he wanted me to actually shake it.
"Sage Winters, very nice to meet you, depending upon the circumstances. What did you want?"
I glared from his eyes to his hand. He noticed the glare so he rested it back at his side and slid it into his coat pocket.
"I was just passing by and decided to admire your home. I see that you are new here."
I glared at him once more as if he had offended me. He moved back a little when he saw the anger glistening within my ice blue eyes.
"Yes I am new to this area. I'm actually quite fond of it compared to London. There is so much life during the wee hours of twilight. I see you are interested in the darker things among this world. Finally someone that isn't part of the coperate world that we live amongst."
I flashed a smile in his way when I noticed the interest his eyes took in the darkness of the mansion. The eyeliner under his eyes made them a bright amber, his black combat boots old and tattered, the 'Beware I Bite' t-shirt that graced his abdomen, and best of all his black and blue stitched bondage pants that dangled from his waist. He was an angel among the dull mortals I have seen a long the streets. He was like me but with one important difference: His hear was still beating and mine was cold and lifeless.
"I know I am different. I see that I finally have someone like me around this dump."
He smiled back delighted by my comment as if the bloody Queen herself has yelled it through the streets of London. His smile was dazzling and graceful as is spread across his pale face.
"Well it was a pleasure to have met you Sage Winters."
He gracefully walked down the darkened dirt road as if gliding through the night. This made me think... He is as graceful as a child of the darkness yet he is nothing more than a mortal. He doesn't seem mortal at all. Who could ever have such an angelic face and a heart that still beats wildly with life.
This made me urn to know more about the mortal that looks like an angel of night, Edward Sterling.
UNFINISHED! Anyone that liked it will have to keep and eye out for more of the story. That is when I write more. Please give me some ideas, maybe even some criticism from anyone that writes...
Thanks,
Sage Winters<3
