Once again Shizuki opened his eyes. Sunlight streamed in forn the small window above the dresser. A picture of Rui smiled down at him. He blinked sleepily adn slowly sat up, pushing his dark purple comforter off of him. He yawned and stretched a little. Another lonely morning. . . . Shizuki got out of bed, walked over to his dresser and took down the photo of Rui. He ran his fingers gently over the protective glass and memories flashed before his mind. He hugged the picture and then gently put it back on the dresser. He then made his way out into the living room. The television was still on. Moku, who had been sleepping on the couch for the last year due to there being no other beds, looked up at his friend. "Goodmorning Shizuki!!" he said with a wide grin. Moku had shaggy brown hair and blue eyes. He was shorter than Shizuki by at least an inch. " 'morning.." Shizuki responded quietly. Ever since Rui's death, Shizuki had been very mellow. Moku frowned. "Something wrong Shi-kun..?" he asked worried for him. Shizuki shook his head. "nah I'm fine.." Moku knew about all that had happened to Shizuki. He frowned and wondered if his best friend would ever get over the loss or be sad forever. The week after Rui had passed away, Shizuki had gone into a depression. He wouldn't eat, sleep, talk, or anything else. He just stared at the picture of him and Rui for hours without end. Shizuki seemed "okay" now but he still wasn't the same person. Moku said nothing for awhile then pointed at a box next on the table next to the kitchen. "Want some breakfast..?" he asked, regaining his grin. Shizuki managed a small smile which was instantly gone. "Okay,.." he said. He opened a cabinet, took out a paper plate and made his way over to the box. Opening it, he took out one doughnut. He was halfway done with it when Moku left for work. Shizuki finished his doughnut and threw the paper plate away in the trash. When he looked at the kitchen flashbacks of Rui flashed before his eyes. A memory of Rui standing in the kitchen in front of the stove making scrambled eggs. His long silver hair pulled into a neat ponytail, and an apron around his torso. He turned and smiled warmly at Shizuki. "Morning sleepyhead!! I hope you are hungry!!" Rui's voice echoed in Shizuki's head like a bell. Tears formed into his eyes as he was once again staring into a lonely, empty kitchen. There was a giant lump in his throat as he sobbed. When would this misery end. Perhaps it never would...
