((Ok, this is a work in progress type of thing. Erasing, changing, re-writing blablabla. I might even end up deleting the whole thing who knows. It's for a character in an rp obviously. I'm not going to try and put in into paragraphs or make it super great grammar-wise. I'm just going to write it. I'll proofread and everything but yeah, feel free to point out any spelling/grammar/syntax/whatever mistakes I might make. ******** ******** ******** ******** ******** HELL!! I had this HUGE thing all written out and then I must've hit cancel instead of preview because now it's all gone. ******** GOD DAMNIT!! I still have some of it...but s**t. Damnit that's so frustrating! Oh well, now I shall go retype it.))
Name: Iosef Koranison
Age: 18 almost 19
Iosef grew up like most other kids in Barton Town except from a young age his parents knew he was different. He learned to do things faster and earlier than anyone his age. He graduated High School at 13, getting straight A's his entire life. He learned several spoken languages, (Spanish, German, Russian, Latin, Japanese, French, and Bushman) as well as a symbol language or two, (Gnommish, Heiroglyphics), Calligraphy and computer languages, (Uh..I don't know many though. C++, Java, Linux, that kind of stuff). He took all the required courses in school, but even from when he was young he showed an affinity for things that most people considered to be bizarre, abstract, or even impossible. He took science classes in elemantary school, and really enjoyed all the science classes he was able to take in High School. When he graduated, he went to College, first getting all the normal classes out of the way, and then going to a prestigious computer science and science college. At one point, he got into a class involving the theory of seperate dimensions and other abstract scientific ideas. It was all really just talk, but when he graduated, one of his classmates approached him with a job offer. Apparently, some of his classmates and some well-known, but not very well-liked scientists had a lab set up where they planned to run all kinds of strange experiments. His classmates had told them about him and the scientists could always use another hand, especially someone smart and bright like him. He loved the idea and started work right away. Over the next several months, they did many things some would say were impossible, manipulating physical reality, 4th dimensional objects, trying to scientifically categorize magic and creatures of magic, etc one of which was a crimson fairy named Ombra that Iosef ended up befriending. At one point they talked about how one might breach a barrier between dimensions or realities. Iosef thought it would make an interesting challenge and set to work on it. Eventually, he came up with a rough design and showed it to his colleagues. They admired the work he'd done and admitted it might be possible. From then on, all other projects were set aside, and everyone worked on perfecting his design and then, once that was finished, constructing it. During this time, many people from different departments were brought together. One of these people was (I'm lousy at making up names, basically -insert female character alpha here- ), who ended up working very closely with Iosef on the project as they were both important to it's success. As time went on, though neither would admit it, they grew very close, both having feelings for the other. Then one day they did it. They finally built it and they knew it had to work. After all, how could it not? They'd spent so long on it, tested so many ideas, ran so many simulations. So, finally, the day came when they were to turn it on. Spirits were running high as the project head gave the order to start. Everyone began doing their thing, flipping switches, pressing buttons etc. Lights blinked, readouts displayed things. Iosef and FCA (for convenience I'll call her that, even in dialogue) were working on the console closest to the ring, together and seperately. Finally all the systems were online, everyone was ready. Iosef and FCA began going down their checklist, step-by-step. So far, so good. The ring began to hum and shake. Everyone watched their consoles and the ring with anticipation. Finally the last step was finished. It should only take a second for the portal to work, but oh that second seemed like an eternity! And then, a flash! It worked! A dark spiral began to form, spreading outwards and filling the entire ring. Everyone cheered! All their work hadn't been in vain! Sure the portal's never looked that way in the simulations, but maybe this dimension was supposed to look that way! The project head offered everyone the week off, as long as nobody went and got drunk or stoned. Everyone was hugging and congratulating their neighbor. But then...everything started to go wrong. So terribly wrong! The readouts were going haywire! The lights all exploded! The emergency lights came up, everyone tried to find out why, but nothing would work on the consoles! Suddenly Iosef noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Was that...? No it couldn't be. It must've been his mind playing tricks on him, after all there was mass panic! But no! There it was again! Iosef pointed it out to FCA and she saw it too. In the center, they saw, without a doubt, two pairs of shadowy eyes! Soon other people began to notice them as well. Some pointed, others stared wide-eyed in fear. Suddenly, one pair disappeared and a bolt of what looked like a mix of black lightning and tar shot out from the portal and struck the console in front of Iosef and FCA. They jumped back into the middle of the room, narrowly avoiding being hit by the strange substance. The lightning arced back and forth over the console then jumped to the next, and the next, doing the same thing each time, leaving a black ooze wherever it touched anything. Iosef noticed that the ooze all seemed connected somehow, even though some of the consoles were across the room from each other and the ooze wasn't strung out across the ground. Suddenly the room began to shake as if there was a massive earthquake going on. Things started falling off shelves and counters. The ooze began collecting together and heading towards the portal. Iosef shouted at everyone to get out of the room, and ran to a console at the back of the room, activating the sequence to seal the room off from the other wings of the lab. They immediately obeyed, terrified for their lives. Everyone that is, except FCA. Iosef looked up as soon as he finished the sequence and the door was closing. Seeing FCA at the console in front of the portal with a small vial and a scraper, about to scrape some of the ooze into the vial. Just as her scraper was going to start pushing the ooze into the vial, the other pair of eyes flickered and another bolt, this time just black lightning, shot from the portal, striking the console and damaging it, arcing back and forth between the console and her body, before sending her flying across the room to slam into the wall. "No!" Iosef cried, running towards her, completely oblivious to the danger from all around him. Just as he got to her and the ooze had begun climbing up the side of the ring, the one console exploded, causing a chain reaction that destroyed the rest of the lab and severely damaged the ring. The ring began to shake and crack, glowing light coming from the cracks((Hmm, glowing light coming from cracks eh? I didn't even mean to do that but it kinda fits with what's going on now)). The portal flickered and wavered before winking out completely. Iosef ran up to FCA, checking for a pulse. Weak...getting weaker. He leaned her up against the wall, coughing from the smoke because the explosions had caused several fires as well as broke open many chemical bottles. "FCA! FCA wake up! We have to get out of here! The power core for the ring is going critical!" Iosef shook her shoulders gently. "I...Iosef...go. You have to leave me..." He shook his head violently. "I can't! I won't! I need you!" She coughed violently, gripping his arm with surprising strength, looking into his eyes. "You...HACK...you're the only one who can rebuild the machine. Besides...you shouldn't die for...COUGH...for someone like...me..." She went into another violent fit of coughing, this time even coughing up blood before slumping back against the wall, eyes closed. "FCA? What do you mean for someone like you? FCA?! FCA...." He checked her wrist, eyes widening. "No...NO!!!" He fell forward on top of her, sobbing and holding her against him, oblivious to the smoke and fire and...the ooze? What was it doing? While Iosef and FCA had been "talking" the ooze and been moving around inside the ring, searching for the portal before stopping, seeming almost sad. After a few seconds of sitting there, it began to change. Almost as if it were changing from ooze to a shadow, or an image of the ooze rather than the ooze itself. It spread itself out into the shadows stretching from the ring, moving back and forth, searching. Finally it connected with Iosef's shadow, darkening it for only a moment. As soon as the ooze/shadow touched his shadow, Iosef stiffened upright, no longer sobbing, before slumping over backwards, unmoving, unconscious.
Iosef woke up in an alleyway, his whole body aching. "Oh ******** happened. Where am I?" He sat up, looking around and clutching his head. "What was I doing last night? Man I gotta lay off the Pixie Styx..." He stood up, walking out into the street and blinking in the sunshine. "Hmm...what should I do today? Ooh look! A pub! Might be fun." He smiled and headed for an innocent-looking building with "Beersprings" over the door. In the shadows of the alleyway Ombra hovered, watching. "I do not like this...but I have no choice. Forgive me my friend."
((I'm kinda seeing it like, the ooze/lightning/eyes is my shadow spirit and when we opened the portal it came over out of curiousity and accidentally caused all the mayhem. When it merged with me, my mind had practically wiped my whole life clean from my memory because of trauma and that sort of thing, so it created a false life filled with random craziness and pixie styx (I. E. one more like my real life). It also took me to a gym and had me work out so I could say, be able to lift a person and carry them out of a building that was collapsing. It also told Ombra not to contact me until it could get to it's own world or it would kill me. Ombra was adamant about being around to help me, so it said it would get me to the fairy shop and he would get himself "captured" so I could buy him. Of course, I can get a vague idea of some of this stuff (the lab where I'm doing the experiment or the people in it or anything after his College really) being re-written to fit the story of Beersprings. And yeah this is only a rough idea, I just wanted something to fit Ombra and the Shadow Spirit into for a backstory. I just pulled it out of my a** really. I don't know how good it is. I'm sure there's lots of stuff wrong with it XD So what do you think? Sorry about no paragraphs. ))
