Recently I've been venturing out of my usual hunting ground of the GD and instead poking around a bit in the Breedable/Changing Pets forum (for which blame the talented folks over at the Forest of Noctua). I must confess that I find myself tempted to get involved - the idea's cute, I like drawing critters, and it'd be good to find something that'd provide a change from the soul-destroying h0rr0r of GD.
I do note, however, that most of the pets in there seem to be some variant of the usual Charismatic Mammals - wolves, cats, horses, and various imaginary beasts based on them, all invariably very fluffy, adorable, charming, aesthetically pleasing, sparkly, lovely, cute, pretty, graceful. There's a lot of skill on display, certainly. But I kind of wonder if a bit more variety might not be a good thing.
Because seeing that much cute stuff makes me want to draw monsters.
Is there a market for this kind of thing, do you think?

Especially if you make limited custom pets in character costumes from popular Anime or Gaia NPC's.
