Daddy
You left me during school Dad, And I never got to say. How much love I felt for you Dad, And still do to this day. Mom's not doing good Dad, She misses you so. Daddy why'd you have to leave us now, Daddy why'd you have to go? You were supposed to watch me grow up Dad, Have a family of my own. Now the only way you can see them now, Is by watching from your grave stone. To see me go to college Dad, That's what you said you'd do. Now the only one to see is Mom, Daddy why not you? I know you went to heaven Dad, An angel you will be. Watching down on all of us, As we realize we'll no longer see. See the one man who knew no stranger, Friendly as can be. Everyone said they loved you Dad, But not as much as me. Of course I know Mom did, You were her soul mate and best friend. And she stayed by your side Dad, Until the very end. I just want to thank you Dad, For sticking around this long. And even though I can't see you Dad, I know you'll never be gone. Thanks for being there for me Dad, And being a REAL Daddy to me. For that I'll never forget you, And you'll always be with me. I think it's all a nightmare, And soon it will be gone. I'll wake to you and your funny laugh, And see you making coffee for Mom. We'll sit out on our porch, And talk for hours like we use to do. You'll come home from work, With flowers for mom like you use to. In the summer I'll ride in your truck, We'll talk on the CB with your trucker friends. Dad I'm so glad I have those memories, To rely on in the end. I know god needed you more, But it still hurts you see. Daddy why'd you have to go NOW, Daddy why'd you have to leave?
