November is one of the biggest months of this year, with the release of half-life 2, the nintendo DS, and, most importantly in my opinion, Halo 2!
Because November is such a big month (and i wont have the money to get all three of these things at once sweatdrop ) I am doing a memorial review of Halo to make the time pass by!
Here we go:
Halo
Style: 1st Person Shooter w/ optional Melee
Gameplay: Easiest Diff- EXTREMLY eays; Hardest- EXTREMLY hard
Online: Yes
Multiplayer: Yes (thank God!)
Style:
--This is a standard 1st person shooter style with 2 types of guns and grenades, as well a melee attack on all guns, making this one of the first of its kind to include this and successfully do it, too. This has been a big influence on the more recent games because of the game's huge success. BUT, like its predesecors before it, it gets repetitive, even after u discover the new species living on the ring world, but it does force you to use a new strategy when facing these critters, so it gets good remarks because of it.
Style:9.5/10
Gameplay:
--As most of us know, Halo starts off in the future, where the Pillar of Autumn, a human battleship-thingy, is attacked by an unknown (to us players, unless you read the books... stare )race, known as the Covenant.
--You are the Master Chief, a man-cyborg-thing who is so strong and important, that he is frozen until he is needed.
--The Game starts off on the Pillar of Autumn, where you must get to the lifeboats before the Pillar of Autumn is thrown to the mysterious "ring world" AKA Halo (duh), which is also where the rest of the game takes place as you try to figure out the mysteries of this strange world.
-The game takes a 180 degree turn when you discoer the new species that threatens to kill all. this complete change in strategy keeps you on your toes and it is a very good transistion in the game (not too fast, not too slow).
Gameplay: 9.5/10
This revolutionized the 1st person world in video games, and theres no doubt that if you dont have this, you should before getting Halo 2.
Total Score: 9.5/10
