Probably the oddest collection of fanfictions out there (except one that I saw that was NejixGaara *shudders*), this pairing has approximately fifteen pages of stories on the fanfiction site.
Most of them are crappy one-shot things that have no plot.
But others are actually really good. How do I know this, you ask? I've actually read a few. There was an exceptionally good one for Valentine's Day. Most of the others are just attention-seeking nonsense. But that's okay.
Most of them have an uncharacteristic Neji (OMG Hair Conditioner!!!) or an overly bold Hinata. Or both, which is odd. And a majority of the ones I've read have to do with a forced marriage between the two (which, in itself is pretty unlikely) or they take place in an American high school.
But the good ones, the ones that actually have some sort of a plot line, and don't just begin
"I love you Neji nii-san!" said Hinata, her normally quiet voice now yelling.
"I love you too Hinata," Neji replied, his voice calmer, but just as emotional."
Well, I enjoy those.
I'm a sap for romance, what can I say? That, and Neji is my favorite non-demented character and I hate Tenten (sorry, but I do...she tries too hard to be interesting...), so I enjoy that Neji gets to be loved by someone other than her.
However, after I read a really good one (which hasn't happened in a while, sadly) I must stop and think to myself:
"HOLY [Insert swear word of your choice here]! Hyuugacest!"
They ARE first cousins after all...
Apparently this is a kind of phenomenon or something. Just look up NejiHina on photobucket, go on. You'll find more than 1200 pictures.
But just like the fanfics, not many of these are incredibly good...
Too many Neji's look like a long haired Shigure (of Furuba) or Orochimaru.
And Neji's hair is BROWN, people! Not blue, or black, or purple or whatever color you decided to make it for your own enjoyment.
And too many Hinatas look like a depressed/timid Rin (again, of Furuba).
I do, however, enjoy one picture. If for no other reason than the bird cage. I love the "caged bird" metaphor, for some odd reason. I don't know exactly WHY...
I will show it later. Right now, it refuses to load.
Fate is an elegant, cold hearted ...,
