C’est la Vie
Every day is a new experience.
Some days I forget that. It’s hard to wake up every morning and turn to a new page in your own private book, and live a new day. There are mornings where you wake up, and you just want to wallow in all the smudges, gouges, and eraser bits of the day before. Or the day before that. Or the day before that. There are days where you just want to close the book altogether. At very few points in our lives do we genuinely realize that we’re teetering on the precipice of something new, and that no matter what kind of terrain we traveled across to get there, we have a chance to wake a new part of our brain. We have the chance to take a new challenge in stride, to be the bigger person, to do something nice for someone who’s last name we don’t even know. Every day, you can be a new person. If you don’t like who you were yesterday, then change something. Don’t fake it, or pretend to be something you aren’t, just decide to make a change – it doesn’t have to be big – and do it!
We’re never stuck so far into bad habit that we can’t dig our way out.
People can change; they just have to want to.
Every day you can make a new friend. Every day you can smile at someone new. Every day is new and exciting, each minute hosting a billion possibilities. You can be the best you can be if you just want to be the best you can be. Things don’t always go right, no, but so long as you keep moving forward, eventually you’ll get through it. A little sunny perspective never hurt anyone. The better you feel, the better everyone around you feels, and the better they feel, the better it gets. No matter what, really, you’ve just got to have a happy thought, like Harry Potter or Peter Pan.
And mine today?
Easy.
It’s a new day. A new life. A new me.
