Hopelessness
She dug down deep in her soul,
She poured her heart out to you,
But all this time you didn't care,
All this time you never even knew.
They pain she felt was greater,
Then any love for life,
She realized as got to the kitchen,
Reaching, once again, for the knife.
They all thought it different,
Nobody had a clue.
The only one who noticed,
Was selfish, merciless you.
The cuts upon her wrists,
Had nothing to do with fun.
She just had to see her pain,
She knew what had to be done.
She lay in bed that night,
Thinking about only you.
And remembered in the closet,
Was one thing that would hold true.
She found what she was looking for,
The laces from her shoe,
When she hung, she didn't scream,
It was morning before anyone knew.
When they found her hanging there,
From her homemade rope,
They knew only her body was dead.
They'd carry on her hope.
