1st hour; Advanced Art
We’ve been making stamps for the past week. Not the postal stamps, but the kind of ‘Good Job’ stamps your teacher puts on your paper, but 10 times bigger. My stamp is about 9x11 inches, other people are making even bigger ones. How you make a stamp is to get some Manolium, it looks like corkboard but a lot sturdier with weaved material at the bottom, kind of like carpet. Then get an image that you would like to make into a stamp. Our art teacher didn’t give us a big selection since she made us choose an image from her ‘Art and Antique’ magazines. But at least there were some cool things to make into stamps, but if I could’ve got the picture off of one of my magazines or the internet then I would’ve never picked the girl leaning over to take a look at something through a window. Yes, that is my stamp. All I did was draw her though & not the background or the building she was looking into. So the teacher told me to put something else in the picture besides just the girl. But I would have to do that after I transferred her to my manolium. The tricky thing is that we couldn’t make things fade like they did on the pictures, we had to pick chunks of the dark areas to color in black, since that part would be the black part of our stamps. I transferred her to my manolium with trace paper but had to go back and define the lines that looked blurred. Then I put her standing on a lily pad and a lily pad in the distance with a flower on it. I have to carve out the white parts so it doesn’t show up in the stamp. Since our class is so small I know what everyone else is doing for their stamps.
Jared = Soccer player in mid air kicking a ball
Mike = Pretty much the same thing Jared is doing
Erica = Abstract guitar
Jess = Little kid in football gear
Eric = Watch
Yup, that’s all of us. What can I say? Not just anyone is allowed to take ADVANCED Art class.
And as for my personal day in art it was pretty good. I got my art history quiz back today and got a 17/20. The highest in my class. But if it wasn’t for the bonus questions I would’ve got 15/20. Still a decent grade, but my goal is to keep my Art grade in the 90’s. As for work I was carving out the teeny-tiny places in my stamp. Eric came up to my table & watched me carve for a while, telling me how awesome of an artist I was. I love that kid. He’s a pudgy kid with red hair and a red beard, and I’m tall enough to call him short. I told him that he should be a voice acter since his laugh is so demonic, but that’s how he normally laughs. But he wants to be a construction worker, and he told me that I should stick to art since I’m so good at it.
Jared walked passed me & took a glance at my stamp. “It’s hideous,” he said. I know that he’s kidding though. We’ve been rivals ever since 7th grade. I don’t know much about Erica, she’s a short blonde, older then me though and is always picking on Jess since their both in the same grade. Jess is a Mexican that thinks that every teacher who’s not nice to him is mean. He lives across the street of one of my best friends house. Mike is also a Mexican, he has a buzz cut with a short mo-hawk and he’s the class clown. He can do some pretty good impressions that’ll leave you crying and trying to catch your breath. Well, that’s all for art class.
2nd hour; Economics
I bet this would be the most boring class I have if I didn’t have any friends in it. And it’s a good thing I sit right next to her too. But I could’ve just as well sat next to her regardless of the seating arrangement since our teacher is pretty lax. Her name is Laura. I look up to her since she’s so acknowledgeable for life problems, not so much with homework since she copies mine, lol. We basically listened to our teacher lecture about money and the Fed and how the Gov. spends taxes and what we think the Gov. should spend taxes on first. We picked Health Care as #1, don’t ask why, it just seemed like the most important thing on the list. And we put Space Exploration as the last thing the Gov. needs to worry about. Other then that I just dosed off as he lectured us & pointed to stuff he written on the chalkboard. I know that I should’ve taken notes since the last test I did I got a D on and schools almost over. But I was lazy, and no one else was taking notes either. That concludes Economics.
3rd hour; Spanish I
Our Spanish teacher is so much fun. He name is Ms. Kontor and our ‘learning activities’ are actually games we play to help us learn our vocabulary better. Well, it really doesn’t help me much but at least our teammates can yell out the answer to us. But our teacher decided to make us teach a section in the book. Well, our vocabulary section, and my team got the movie section. Basically, we’re going to write down the words on the overhead, then act them out and make them guess what word we’re trying to act out. Then we spell it out with our body’s by making ourselves into the shape of the letter. Then for our learning activity we make one person on each team dance a dance, like the moon walk or the thriller (we have 15 dances to choose from that we thought up of) then we tell them the word to write up on the chalkboard and they race up there and write the word really fast, the one who’s done first and is the most legible wins. End of Spanish.
4th hour; Computer technology
This class is about, you guessed it, computers. Our teacher made us know the ups and down and inside out of Excel and Word. We touched on Photoshop and I zoomed past those assignments like that. Too bad we didn’t learn as much as I would’ve liked to. We are currently doing this fking retarded assignment where we have to find 10 jobs that fit our job description. A while back he made us do a career test to see what jobs would be most suitable for us. Mine was an illustrator. But this assignment is the most boring thing I’ve ever done. We have to actually go on the internet and find jobs that we would be able to do later in life. We have to get their personal information such as the first and last name of the founder of the company, their phone number, the companies street address, and other crap that is really hard to find. It makes me want to pull my hair out, I only have 7 and it’s due Monday. I would’ve had a lot more done if the computer didn’t freeze on me when I just finished my 7th one. Too bad my friend Robyn wasn’t there today, she suffers from massive migraines and that’s why she had to stay at home today. Sometimes her parents will make her go to school anyway when she feels like crap. She texted me telling me that she wouldn’t be here today, she’s my only friend in that class.
5th hour; English II
I’ve had the same English teacher since 7th grade and she’s a ditzy person for someone with gray hair. Mrs.LaRosh. Her husband is the town vet and has neutered and spayed our cats and has done check-ups on our horses. She tries her best to make things fun for us and she has a hard time maintaining the high ranking of a teacher. She’s so corny and full of life, but it’s better then having a dull, monotone teacher. I’m really going to miss her when I don’t have her next year. Today we got up in front of the class and read our parts that she assigned to us for the Shakespeare play called Julius Caesar. I was a character named Flavious, pretty cool name, huh? I wanted to be that person since his names so cool. And so what if Flavious is a guy. “Hence, Home you idle creatures….” those were the first few words I remember from my part. That’s pretty much it for English
6th hour; Geometry
Math test. I totally spaced out when I came across a new section of problems which is why I was one of the last people to finish the test. Our teacher didn’t let us talk until everyone was done, so I didn’t get to reminisce with my friends very much
7th hour; Biology
Probably one of my favorite sections in biology, animals. I’m addicted to Animal Planet so I know almost everything there is to animals. I believe that I’m even smarter then the teacher because when me & my partner was working on our poster she said “A frogs an amphibian, right?” I was like ’well duuuuh!’ This is the only class I don’t have a friend in, but at least I have a nice partner. I know that the only reason why she picked for me to be her partner was because I’m good at drawling and for our poster we needed to draw a worm and a snail along with it’s insides. She just colored and labeled the parts. She has better handwriting then me and I wished I could’ve colored the poster myself since I’m better at it, but I didn’t want her to s=feell left out so we divided the work. Once we were finished I played a racing game on my phone in front of the teachers desk. She’s really nice and lets us text and listen to ipods and MP3 players when we’re done with our work.
