Domo Backpack ate my head....
Crazy adventures in this world we call, GAIA.
Kerry concedes...
Bush is going to give the US of A four more years of torture. He had 4 years to prove himself...he did chaos and destruction to the US economy. Why in the world did half of the US vote for him >,< Is it because of him not seperating Church from State? Is it his propaganda like commercials using the victims of 9/11 for his own campaigning for re-election?

I've met Senator Kerry in 1997 and he mentioned he will run for President..he did now in the year 2004...and sadly people chose the horrible leader Bush over a new change Kerry. London wanted Kerry...oh well..

"Bush is a dumbass. Most of the young people i know wanted him out. It's the old people and parents and s**t who are stupid and believe his crap. Crap is certainly what it is and you never know if Bush cheated or not. he did in 2000 why not in 2004? that is the only thing he DOES know how to do. I hate his stance on so many issues, not to mention he's a frakin' Republican. They never look out for anyone but themselves. Them and there stupid tax cuts for the rich. Not to mention his stance on gay marriage and abortion. Love is Love and Kerry was right when he said abortion is a complex issue. People said he was being wishy-washy but in truth he just saw that it is COMPLEX. something bush obviously can't grasp. beyond his rather limited intellect i'm sure. Gah! i could go on all day. But i won't i'll leave it at this or i'll REALLY start to rant. My sister is even worse.....wow if she saw this she wouldn't stop talking for a week. eh, ok i'm gonna shut up now." whee

I am so angry at people who voted for Bush. Most of them voted for him because they believe that he is moral and trustworthy. What a load of b.s..

Not four years of torture... More like four more years in his Reign of Terror.

We talked about this a little bit in our class on Post-Colonial British Novel - because we couldn't seem to focus on much else. With issues like gay marrriage and abortion Bush is so close to the religious right that he can scare voters into not voting for the other guy, because if they did that would be sinful in their eyes.

Personally I was hoping that my mother would see the light, and I had talked to her on several occasions about the election. She is pro-choice, she believes in a separation of Church and State... but you can see when she argues how her own personal morals (or bias, really) gets in the way of her political thinking.

And I'm sure there are people out there who do believe that if they voted for the other guy they would go to hell... But I guess that's what I get...

Remind me to move out of the South.

When I heard the news it felt like a knife stab through the back...

I mean people what more proof do you want that Bush is a dumbass?

Look at the debates he's so damn quick to argue and yet he has this blank expression on his face not knowing what he was going to say.

I'm just wondering how people can be so freakin' blind.

Yet I'm proud that Kerry haddled the situation the way he did, he did it for the good of the country avoiding another Florida incident or have this election drag out more then necessary.

I live in New Jersey, one of the blue states. Everywhere on campus, people were thick with disapointment at the outcome of this election. I was a depressed mess, and could hardly function in class. I think the best way to survive this is to remember that We contribute to the future of this country. Don't be disapointed, it's only the way things are now; sometimes you have to move back a bit to move forward. I think we've entered such a time. There will come a day when an intelligent person with heart will again become leader of our country, but for now we can volunteer, write letters, even march if necessary. 17 percent isn't much, but it's better than nothing.
There have been those in history and in the world today, who survived many hardships and contributed greatly to the freedom of their people. I keep their stories in mind whenever I need strength to keep going.

Peace

I know, I can't believe he won! I can't believe I have to listen to his kindergarden vocabulary and grammar. He shouldn't be attacking Iraq with his "Nucular" Weapons.

Ugn. President Bush.
The only, and I mean ONLY reason he won.. Really.. is because the hicks, and rednecks(No offense to anyone. ^^ wink of this country favored him and his "Texas" orgin. He isn't even from Texas. Sigh. I loath Bush with a passion..

And yes, Canada is looking good right now.

As a Canadian, it really shouldn't matter to me who won, but it does.

I'm not sure what worries me more, that GWB was re-elected, or that I just knew that it was going to happen.

I would love to post something truely profound but I've got nothing. 'cept to quote a man who could beat a member of the Bush family:

<center>"I feel your pain."</center>

Good Luck America, you'll need it. We all will.

But that Apathy is everywhere Jakobo. It's why nothing truely groundbreaking ever happens in politics anymore.

Two things to look at:

1) More people aware of the politics currently shaping things are willing to let other people vote assuming that the result they expect will occur regardless, believing that their personal vote doesn't hold the value it should anyways.

2) So many people out there don't care enough about the details to bother even being concerned with their ability to help shape the politics around them. Does the average citizen notice a huge difference in how they live their lifes regardless of who controls the houses and the White House? No, because they go with the flow of their daily lives, go to work, play, rest, & pay their taxes.

Sad but true. It's just the way it is. I as a british-born Canadian citizen should not be better aware of the state of U.S. politics than my American friends, but i am constantly amazed at how apathetic Americans i know are about their government.

No, Canada sucks ninja Nothing to see here move along...

Only 1/10 though? Jeeze . . . There's only been one thing for me to vote on since I turned 18, but seeing as it was, like, the week of my birthday and I had no idea what was going on - I didn't bother.

commentCommented on: Sat Nov 06, 2004 @ 10:17am
Apathy Alert. see it effects canadians too

Don't worry Sephy, that election was more or less set in stone before the polls opened. There was no question the Liberals were going to win and Paul Martin would remain Prime Minister, It was just a question of how bad a Minority Government he'd be taking back to Ottawa. Martin may not be a great PM, but considering who he had to run against, it would have been hard to do worse than they did. The Conservitives haven't figured out what foot they are standing on yet, And despite the fact they have good policies, the voting population just doesn't seem willing to let the NDP have a shot at power.

commentCommented on: Sun Nov 07, 2004 @ 04:17am
I think people voted in Bush so that they could see him ******** up again and then be made fun of for it. xp
On a plus note, this will be his final 4 years, unless he somehow changes the laws and becomes a moronic version of Hitler. xp

And being in Canada isn't much better; all of those nomads will soon realize that our politics suck just as much, only in a different fashion. Basically, if you're not French and you don't live in BC, you're screwed. xp

I'm a devout Kerry fan in America, i'm really disappointed that Kerry conceded and Bush won, i know that 80% of international countries wanted Kerry to win. it really pisses me off i have to deal with a monkey in the white house being puppeteered by his rich daddy.
