Noccy's Journal of Doom... and really bad fanfics.
Well, this is where you'll find everything you need to know about a bad fanfic author who has a boring life in a boring town. If you all bow down very nicely, I might even sneak in peeks of my humorfics...
Rambling on...
Of all the songs in possibly all of the movies I have ever seen, no song triggers emotions quite so well for me as Luke's theme in the Star Wars movies. Its many variations and appearances in many cues really ties the series together, from the first time we hear it in A New Hope, to the last time we hear it, in the second-to-last scene in Return of the Jedi, and almost everywhere in between. But probably the appearance of Luke's theme in a cue that has had the most special significance is "Ben's Death". My earliest memories of Star Wars involved sitting on the floor in the living room while wearing a bicycle helmet and wielding an empty Super Soaker for blasting stormtroopers. After that and the releases of Special Edition in theater, it may have been about seven or eight years before my true interest in the Trilogy was renewed. Before I stuck the tape in the VCR, I tried to recall as much as possible. Aside from lines like "Will somebody get this big walking carpet outta my way?", the only scene I remembered vividly was the outcome to Vader and Obi-Wan's duel, particularly Ben's empty cloak and his lightsaber falling to the floor. And the music. But now that I have rewatched the Trilogy, I've realised that Luke's theme wasn't just linking the series together, it was also linking me, perhaps, to my early childhood. My interest in Star Wars, or perhaps a newfound love, has not only been renewed, but heightened as well. There is so much more to Star Wars than there was when I blasted Stormies on the living room floor. There is symbolism and hidden meaning. Now, I have found a universe to explore in what was once just 'a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away', and it's all thanks, perhaps, to two men, one fictional, and one real: one Jedi named Obi-Wan Kenobi, and one composer/director named John Williams.

((Note: This is more or less directly from an entry in my diary. Yes, that's right, you got to read my diary without having to be all sneaky. Lucky you... Note #2: Should I have made it three men? Ben, John, and George Lucas? Naaaah.))
