Fear the Penguak for one day she will grow up big and strong.
Tedium
It has come to my attention that I neglect to update my journal. I can assure you that is entirely my own fault! er... So in order to compensate for lost time.. and entries I decided to give a quick recap of my day! However unevntful that may be.
Lessee...
I was just in the process of enjoying a wonderful dream. An elaborate little fantasy filled with daring, adventrue, and... feesh. I was nearing the climax of my adventures in slumberland when I was rather rudely awakened to the sound of mother wailing through the door in a way eerily reminiscent of an angered howler monkey.
Begrudingly I arose, hair matted and eyes drooping to face what was to be a long tedious day. Needless to say I was in a rather cantankerous (look it up) mood, and had managed to work up a vicious appetite over night. So I resolutely marched downstairs to the kitchen with the sole purpose of locating food. To my dismay I found the kitchen devoid of just that.
I knew exactly who the culprit was, and Huhio would have heard the worst of my early morning banter if mother hadn't taken that exact moment to swoop into the kitchen and offer me cold pancakes. I wasn't entirely elated but food is food, and I was one hungry b*****d.
Shortly after wolfing down my pancakes we all piled intot eh car and proceeded to make the two hour journey to the house where huhio and I were to take our assessments for the year. What you might ask am I talking about. Well since huhio and I are homeschooled we don't take standardized testing. Instead we take an assesment at the end of every summer to assess how much we've learned over the year. These sessions tend to average 7 hours.
Todays session was no exception. As I struggled through the math portion I could simply feel the peaceful computer-filled day i had envisioned slipping through my fingers. I still have yet to decide which is worse. Struggling through ym own testing for waiting hours for huhio to finish his. Granted I did take a little longer than he, but I'm sure he and I were equally eager to escaped the confines of the testing facility.
Toward the end of the sessions he and I became restless and nicked mums car keys. We somehow managed to amuse ourselves for an hour playing keepout witht he car. Not a game you'd consider riveting. One of us had the car keys and constantly locks and unlocks the doors while the other whiens and tries desperately to get inside. Guess who was inside the car. twisted
Mother constantly reprimands us; saying we'll wear out the locks playing games like that but when your bored out of your skull you tend to shunt those things aside. Coming to realize that a great portion of my day had flown out the window I was delighted when mum returned to the car and we once again piled insdie.
During the long ride home, ahving been crammed in the back seat (Durn you Huhio) I found myself in need of entertainment. I whipped out my sketchbook and pencil and set off to work. It's amazing what you can acomplish in a moving vehichle if your bored enough to put the time into it. Although by the time we reached home I still hadn't managed to finish what I was working on, nor do I expect to for a couple days now. Turns out I actually like how it's turning out. I may post it here later.
We finally arrived home and I rushed to my room and collapsed into bed. Nothing particularily noteworthy took place afterward unless you'd perfer I explain every detail of the computer fun that ensued.
Well thats the basic rund-down of my day! Terribly sorry for the large gap in entries. i've been rather busy.
