all week, i've been neglecting my social life to work for my church. i've been teaching music in vacation bible school from 8 till 1, then doing daycare till 6. and i'm tired. i thought my friends had probably forgotten that i exist. i was relieved of my fear when invited to stay over at a friends house with the craziest people i know (minus a few). but that wasn't in the least bit as fun (well, i'm not sure right now, since it hasn't happened yet, it's just a prediction) as what i spent doing from 6 till 9 thirty last night.
i was picked up by my brother, as always, from daycare with 60 dollars of pay in my hot little hand. now, i'm usually the only other person in cameron's car (except during school years) so, after a battle for my specially upholstered seat in the front, i recognized the presence of cameron's friends with a snarl of victory. their names were dan and ryan, regular comers to our church, and with such close interests to cameron, it was scary. a sudden thought crossed my mind- it's friday! i don't have to wake up at 7 tomorrow! i can stay up as late as i want! i immediately turned to cameron and explained the situation. so he asked what we all wanted to do. knowing it was only the most fun store in the universe, i suggested we go to party city to find superhero costumes.
after an hour or two at the party store, we left with a bag full of stick-on mustaches (which were labeled moustaches), a pirate rubber ducky, three sour strips, white, silver and green hair spray, a bag of random temporary tattoos, and a bottle of carbonated candy. once in the car, i distributed the mustaches. the first stop on our agenda was Moes, that preppy mexican restaurant. we walked in, spread our arms out and said "hola, komostas!!!" then, still from the door, i said i wanted red beans, a chalupa, and "your jobs" then turned around and walked away. we walked around in game stop. just like when we dressed up as pirates, everyone acted like it was normal, except for all the priceless blank stares from the hoocie mammas. we stood at the door and waved good bye, then went to stare at the people in fat burger for a few minutes.
after our adventures on the main street, we went to the mall to sport our latest, hairy fashions. it was around this time that ryan decided he wanted a side-stache and stuck his mustache to the side of his face. we walked around, with many turned heads following us (well, mostly ryan). we went home after ditching our staches around claires (i stuck mine to a hannah montana poster).
in short, we had a blast! i don't think i'd ever had more fun in my life. and with guys even. today, we're going as superheroes, and seeing the dark knight.
