I land softly in a tree and relax my wings man i've been flying for days I think as I jump down and look at my suroundings "hmm, small town" i say heading to the main street, of course, hiding my wings inside my heavy jacket thank god it's Winter right now I walk over to the opposite side and look around, "ok, time to head in" I mutter bored like and head over to town, the wind picks up and blows snow towards me "jesus, no breaks huh" I say shivering and running into a little coffee shop. She shivers and walks over to a booth in the corner of the place, looking out the window.
A young man around my age (15) walks over and smiles "hello, can I help you" he asks, his voice deep, yet very soft
"umm, just a glass of water please" I say startled by his appearence
"coming right up" he says smiling
I sigh and relax a bit "come on girl, just take it easy" I mutter taking a deep breath
He returns and sets a glass in front of me "if you need anything else just ask" he says politly
if only he new what I am, then he wouldn't be so nice to me, noone ever is if and when they find out I take o sip of water and smile He added some sugar
"come on dude, just go sit by her and ask her out, we all know you like her" a guy says from in the kitchen
"she probably has a guy, just look at her, plus, even if she was single, she would never like a guy like me, I mean, I work at a freakin coffee shop" I here the guy who served me say
"Ethan just go out there and ask, if she doesnt want to, say ok and walk away, if she does, ill cover for you" the higher voiced guy says
I blush slightly as I relize what was going on "oh crap" I mumble what should I say, I like him, but what if he finds out, oh well, if he finds out, then he wont go near me anymore, like usual
"fine, but if i get rejected you owe me your tips for today, got it." I hear Ethan say. He walks over and smiles "mind if I sit by you" he asks sweetly
"n-no, go ahead" I say stuttering slightly man now he'll think i'm an idiot
"thanks" he says sitting across from me shyly "so, whats your name" he asks softly
"im Kana" I say looking at him
"cool name" he says grinning "I'm Ethan" He adds quickly
"nice to meet you Ethan" I say, trying to keep my wings from fluttering "did you ummm, want to talk to me about something" I ask looking out the window
"oh yeah, I did, I was wondering, if you were free, if you would want to ummmm, go out some time" he asks looking at me hopfully
I blush and look at him "you wont want to after the first night, something always goes wrong" I say looking away shyly
"maybe so, but I would still love to take you to a movie or something, just once wouldn't hurt would it" he says touching my hand lightly
I blush as he touches me and smile looking at him again "well, once might not hurt" I say shyly "but wouldn't it be better to get those tips?" i say winking.
he laughs and shakes his head "id rather go on a date with you," he says, "if your not busy we can go see a movie..." he says looking at me intensely
"well, I don't know, I'm never really busy, i just walk around, I don't have a place anymore. . ." I say before stopping and changing the subject "but i am free right now so i guess so." I say controlling my wings and smiling as innocently as possible.
"well if you don't have a place to stay, there's and extra room at my place if you want to stay for a while" he says smiling shyly "and sweet, do you have any preferances?"
"o-ok" I say glancing at him "i don't watch very many movies, but anything scary i like," i say giggling slightly.
"sweet, i think there's a good horror film playing tonight." he says grabbing my hand and pulling me up and we head outside
"so where is this theater exactly?" I ask shivering slightly and pulling my jacket around me
"its kinda a bit of a walk, but my place is just up the road if you want we can stop and warm up there, then i can drive us there." he says looking at me
"th-that sounds okay," I say still shivering slightly, we walk over to a small building and head inside. when we inside and settled in he leads me over to a large couch "thanks, you really don't have to do this, I could walk around town until another movie starts" I say trying to keep control of my wings from flapping open
"its no problem, here, can I take your jacket, you'll warm up a lot faster" He says touching my shoulder lightly
"n-no, I'll be fine" I say crap, im gonna have to take this off sooner or later I think looking at my hands shyly
"oh, its okay, you don't have to," he says looking away shyly "want anything to eat or drink" he asks heading into the kitchen
"just some water please" I say, holding my stomach as it growls softly
"are you sure, I can make you a sandwich or something" he says laughing softly at my expression
"i-i'm okay" I say and then sigh shyly "do you have a bathroom, I need to check something" I ask trying to sound innocent I need to stretch my wings, they feel so soar I think as he nods
"yeah right over there" he says pointing down the hall "last door on the right."
"thanks" I say shyly and head into the bathroom not shutting the door and taking off my jacket and looking at my wings in the mirror "that's better" I say softly so Ethan couldn't hear
"hey, Kana, you okay?" Ethan asks and i hear him walking down the hall.
shoot, where's my jacket I think as I look around, my wings spread slightly "yeah, I'm okay." I say hoping he doesn't come to the door
"okay, are you sure?" he asks walking closer, when he gets to the door he looks at me confused "Kana, why are there wings on your back?" he asks standing in the doorway and looking at me worried.
I wisp around and feel my face turn bright red, "I ummm, well" I try to think of an excuse but give up "I was born with them, I told you the dates I go on never last, I'll leave don't worry" I say grabbing my jacket off the edge of the tub where it had fallen.
"what are you nuts, its even colder outside right now, don't worry, if you want you can stay the night" He says smiling "I don't see any problem, I think you look awesome"
i smile as he speaks "w-well, I guess, but I really shouldn't, you've been kind enough" I say stepping towards him to go around into the hall.
"no problem, I'd love it if you stayed, you can use the extra room across the hall" he says pointing and grabbing my hand lightly
"well, I guess one night wouldn't hurt right?t" I say letting him lead me to the extra room
"Well then lets get you to your room so you can get ready for our date." he says smiling and opening the door and leading me in "well here we are"
"wow, its so colorful" I say looking around, the room was a light blue with violet and pink swirls "I really don't need to stay, this is too much"
"oh come on, I really think it'll be fun, if its the room, you don't have to have this one, you can have my room, ill sleep here-"
"sh" I say stopping him by placing my finger on his lips, "Its not the room, I'm just not used to people being so nice to me, your right, it might be fun, so I'll stay but please, just don't make me feel so special I'm used to rocks being thrown at me and knives and all sorts of things" I say trying to not cry from the memories and rubbing my arm where there was a scar from two years ago.
He smiles and looks at me "well, I would never throw a rock or knife at you but. . ." he walks over to the bed and grabs a pillow "I would do this" he tosses the pillow at me laughing
"hey" I say giggling "so you wanna play rough huh" I smile and fly up to the ceiling and hover above him
"okay that's so unfair, " he says grinning and jumping onto the bed and grabbing my arm and pulling me down
"nyaa" I yelp as I fall onto the bed on top of him, i feel my face light up bright red as i look at his face shyly.
"well now look what happened" he says grinning at me.
I feel myself shutter softly and sit up and go to slide off of him "s-sorry" i whisper.
"no problem" he says lifting me back up so I'm laying on his chest again.
I blush and look at him shyly "now what?" I ask.
he smiles and kisses me lightly
I blush and jump slightly, sitting up quickly
"I-I'm sorry, that was too much" he says sitting back slightly
"n-no I'm just not used to that kind of stuff" I say shyly
Ethan laughed and sat up as well, "well, if your warm, i guess we can go see that movie," he says standing up and looking at me.
I smile and nod "Yeah, but if you scream I'm you owe me some ice cream." i say laughing, and remembering that was the bet my older brother and i used to make. i sigh and look out the window.
"you sure look out windows a lot," he says stepping towards me, "you okay?" he asks hearing my sigh.
"Yeah, i just remembered something stupid," I say and stand up "lets go." I say walking out of the room.
He looks at me for a moment before following after me, "alright, lets go down to my car," he says grabbing his keys off of the counter.
I nod and try to get my brother off my mind He's gone now, I have to stop thinking about him, I think and follow Ethan out to his car.
He opens the passenger side door for me to get in, and when I do he shuts it lightly before running over to his side and getting in. He starts the car and turns on the heat.
"So, whats the name of this movie?" I ask as we drive down the road.
