Chapter 12 from the Fantasy RP forum.
Wraith hadn't the courage to look at her, for Echo had done the slimiest and most terrible thing yet; he forced Wraith to see through his eyes. Wraith remembered every detail of what had happened the previous night. He remembered killing those two people, fighting and hurting Alric (where the heck is he anyway???), and he remembered fighting and almost killing Kilara. Wraith felt the tears burning in his eyes, and he let them fall.
Kilara looked down at Wraith. "Are you ok?" She asked quietly seeing his tears
Wraith remained quiet for a moment, feeling so terrible that he felt Kilara should have let him die. He wanted it all to end.
" I am not ok," he whispered.
Kilara pulled her hair tie out off her hair and covering her ears. "I'm sorry, I almost killed you. Echo is gone, his soul left your body because he thought my poisen would kill you." She was trying hard to help him feel better.
The message gave him some peace of mind.
" He'll be back... Once he gets Drax to give him a body of his own, he'll be back to kill me," Wraith said," He'll even kill you if he gets the chance. Without an occupied body to hold him back he'll be stronger than ever."
"Yeah, well I want to kill him more than ever!" She was yelling by the time she finished her sentence. She stood up and retrived the last dagger she had used, the one that almost killed Wraith.
Wraith tried hard to sit up, but he didn't have the strength.
" You don't understand..... He is the Lord of Vampires..... He'll have whole new and powerful abilities......" he said.
Kilara stared at him, she hadn't expected that one. "He's the....oh." She went over to help Wraith. "Sorry, I gave your body quite a thrashing." She felt really bad about hurting him. "Anything I could do to help you?"
" You've done enough by making Echo leave..." said Wraith. He managed to sit up against a rock. He looked down at his sword, but he realized it was gone, as well as his crystal.
"Um...Wraith, you might want to withdrawl that statement. Alric cut your sword up and I threw your crystal over the ravine." she looked down at the grass a little bit embrassed by that
Wraith wasn't shocked.
" I'm just lucky to be alive. Good ridence to that crystal. As for the sword, I needed a new one anyway," he said. He removed his empty sheath and he threw it into the bushes
Ok." Kilara said happily. "What do we do now, I think Alric will find us in his own good time, I left him the forest."
Wraith closed his eyes.
" Right now, I just want to sleep. Maybe now I'll actually GET to sleep," he said.
Kilara sighed and walked over to sunny patch of grass. She layed down and curled up enjoying the sun, she was soon asleep
Wraith thought she had the right idea. Good thing he told her to sleep. Wraith stood up and he walked over to the bridge and he leaned against the railing. The scenery was beautiful, and Wraith never felt better.
Still asleep. Kilara's dreams were once agin filled with black and pain, she didn't understand why, but it went on and on. She began to sweat and twicht in her sleep.
Wraith's head began to throb again and he looked over to where Kilara was sleeping. He saw her tossing and turning and he ran right over to her.
" Kilara! Kilara wake up!" he said, shaking her. She was sweating a lot and Wraith became very worried, but he continued to shake her.
Kilara woke up wide eyed and gasping. She quickly calmed down and relaxed, taking slow deep breaths.
Wraith stared at her.
" Kilara? Are you ok? Say something," he said.
"I'm ok, I think." She looked around her trying to reassure her self she wasn't surronded by that painful black.
Wraith held his hand out.
" Come on, I think we should go find Alric," he said.
She nodded and took his hand, standing up and started to walk back to the forest.
Wraith followed close behind her, sensing that something wasn't right.
This was the second time she had had this painful dream, and it only happened after she had met Wraith, Echo, and Alric.
Wraith looked around for any sign of Alric. All he could see was trees and shrubs. His senses were more acute now that Echo was gone.
Kilara walked slowly, slightly dizzy form lack of sleep and worried about her dream.
Wraith could hear something moving in the bushes, but ignored it, thinking it was just a woodland creature.
"Wraith, I think we should head back to the village. Were not to far from it." She said trying to push the dream out of her thoughts.
" No way!" exclaimed Wraith," I'm not going back there! You can go! But I'm staying right here!"
He jumped up into a tree and leaned against it.
