Gaby, My Blood Sister, you were always there for me, washing my wounds and soothing my soul. It is one of my greatest regrets that I could not return the favor. In my moment of absence, you died by your own hands, spurred on by a life of depravity, desolation and neglect. My Sister, the moment we became bound by a cut on the outside of our wrists was one of the happiest moments of my life. Finally, I felt that I belonged. But then you passed on to the Afterlife barely six months after that. May you, my Sister, Rest in Peace.
Meaghan, I may never know the full reason for why you hung yourself in your bathroom on May 9, 2008 barely five minutes after Kyle Bergman left this Earth, but I will forever miss you. I still believe I could have prevented your demise, and perhaps I am correct, but since you, too, were my Blood Sister, I carry on your legacy as well as Gaby's. I will pass on your blood well, Sister.
For the both of you, I shall recite Kaddish Avelim, or the Mourner's Kaddish, something I did not do at your separate funerals. For this I apologize, for that is the way of my people. I guess I'm making up for lost time. . . I hope you can hear me now, from the Other Life. . .
