Chapter 14
Angel
And suddenly, the pain was gone. Three days of tormenting pain, gone. Yet, something else seemed gone, something I just couldn’t quite put my finger on. I gazed at Akkiyaan. I had learned that was the vampire’s name. I could feel nothing but hunger as my glazed look at Akki weakened. He noticed my lack of movement, my lack of writhing and heavy breathing. The lack of a heartbeat. I stumbled towards him.
“My angel, are you feeling different?” I hated him so much, but I felt…dedicated to him. So badly, I wanted to kill him. I fell in a mass of black feathers at his feet. So this would be my final death, lying at the feet of my merciless enemy? He picked me up as if I were a cat, staring into my eyes. “Why are your eyes still that disgusting purple?” he mused. I really wanted to punch him. “Are you ready to go to Africa to find your sisters?” Well that ruined my European tour. What sisters? I didn’t have any, what a moron; I didn’t even have a family!”
“As you wish, my master.” The words fell flatly from my lips, it wasn’t me. I couldn’t control myself! That’s when it hit me. My independence was gone.
