I've observed that, in ballet, men's parts tend towards JUMP! HIGHER! MOAR JUMPZ!! NAO!!!!!!1! while female parts tend to focus a lot more on nuance and SPINS.
they sure do like those spins.

And hard. (Laughs) I was forced, along with all the other students in class all through elementary school to do ballet and tap and all sorts of other dancing styles. We had a dance room with wooden floors, a mirror, the shoes, a barre, and a sexy dance teacher who always wore leotards and leg warmers.
....but seriously. I want to see the Nutcracker this year. Ballet is cool.
