Shocked at the sudden flurry of arrows, I remembered what my mother would do. This would be cause for her to try even harder. Such a threat on my land can not be tolerated. Even if it means I am to fall here, I don't care. It's not a life for me, but a life for my people.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a commander running toward me. Quickly, in desperation, I pull my sword up to block his falling blade. Surprisingly, I didn't have to worry about him anymore. A new-found power of my weapon emerged; the commander's blade shattered to the ground upon contact with my sword. After looking at me for a few seconds, he ran in terror. What is it that my father did to get me this?

After spending a few seconds in admiration of the weapon I wielded, "Nice young one! But can you take a dagger forged out of the strongest of metal? And enchanted by the best of magi? I don't think so!" was all I heard before being slammed to the ground and it going flying. A sharp pain emerged in my back. Forcing myself to turn over, I saw their leader standing above me, excited that she got me.

Unable to move from the pain in my back, I was locked in a gaze with her. Her long, black hair, her dark eyes, he lengthy -- but capable -- body. At the exact moment she moved for my throat, Sena appeared out of the air. Without using a weapon, she quickly slammed the evil women away from me. Sena has always been good at martial arts. She has also had a knack for keeping me safe.

Feebly, I make a reach for the mystic sword. Just a touch from my finger, and I felt fine, I couldn't feel the pain that distorted my back. Quickly I grabbed the hilt, jerked around, and saw their leader attacking Sena along with other members of their team. In my mind, all I could think was, "Sena! No!" I couldn't move, I was terrified.

I've never been in real combat before, so the process of saving her wasn't going to be fun. Then I remembered it isn't just us two. "Tubase get to Sena! She needs your help! Wetniol get the people off of Tubase! Glorin come to me!" In what seemed to be harmony, they undertook their orders flawlessly. Tubase immediatly went to Sena's side and fought off the foes. Wetniol in a quick motion sent daggers flying at Tubase's previoud attackers. Glorin moved to me.

"Glorin we must get rid of that lady. She leads them."

"Yes sir, but how? We won't be able to get to her. They have the pathways to her protected cunningly."

"The arrows. We use you to run and get the guards. Have them move in front of the arrows approaching us. Keep them between you and the archers! Take them down if possible. I will move in and take her down."

"Master Adease, wonderful plan. Let's do this."

"On three... 1... 2... 3... GO!"

We both burst out in speed that I have never seen from my team. The plan worked perfectly. The guards of this lady ran straight to him. What idiots, they left their boss open for me.

As I brought the edge of my blade above her, she yanked a sword out from under her cloak. It didn't shatter... Wait, it didn't shatter! Now what! I don't know how to use the abilities of this thing! Pay attention to the battle field she is attacking back! Her sword cracked when it hit mine... Obviously it only works on defense. Then what on offensive?

She and I continued in this dance of blades for minutes. Eventually everyone stopped fighting and watched us. Amazingly no arrows are coming towards me. Must be the fear of hitting her. I better be able to do this... For inspiration I said, "Lord Kunit will not fall to the likes of you! Now perish!" Upon saying the last word my edge hit hers, sending her flying back and the weapon shattering.

Every one starred at me. Then they ran. They fled us because of one saying. I need to use it again, it's... it's... unexpected. Father didn't lie after all.

Thinking aloud now, I mumbled, "I need to find a name for this beauty... What could I name it..."

Tubase's deep voice was easily recognized, "How about 'What the ******** run!' because look what you did!"

Glorin was next to lecture me, "Is that really called for? You can't let them get away! Go for HER not her WEAPON!"

"Guy's, leave him alone. He saved us all. After saving Tubase's a**, I did some scouting. It was a full-blown army. They were going to invade. This is sure to send a shock through their entire system. They won't go yet. They will want to wait and see what we do." That was unexpected. Wetniol's voice was heard again. This was differently a day, he is talking so much more than normal lately. Twice today.

Then, I heard her voice, "He is right. We may be able to do a lot, but even an army is a lot for us to take down. We should be in thanks. We aren't yet experienced enough on true battle. Maybe sometime soon."

"Thanks you two. We need to rest though. Set camp here." I am pleased. I had two to back me up. I know I'm not the best leader and it was my first time in battle, but I didn't expect them to be there.

After setting up, eating the delicious ham, and getting ready for my much-needed slumber, I sat and thought. What about Sena makes me like her so much. There must be more than she is the only girl in the team. I never felt any attractions like this to any girl. Oh well... I'm tired... Maybe it will come to me in my dreams.
