Midnight Cries “This room is SOO MINE!” Anna said excitedly. “Fine, I’ll get the smelly one across the washroom…it’s only for the weekend anyways,” sighed Nana. “Girls, what did I say about room and any other stuffs?” their Dad asked loudly from downstairs. “FINDER KEEPER!” Anna shouted while Nana couldn’t care less. “That’s my girl!” their Dad said proudly. “Nana, I’m going to put some of my clothes in your closet.” Anna demanded. “Uhh—-.” “Thanks,” said Anna, without giving Nana the chance to reply. “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe that we actually had to move to this stupid empty town just because of Dad have to write this stupid @#$$ book! While Mom gets to stay in New York.” Complained Anna. “Look on the bright side. At least we get to breath in more fresh air, just the time I needed to relax from the pressure.” Nana said happily. “The only bright side I can see is that…WE CAN DITCH CLASS ALL WE WANT!!” Screamed Anna. “Shh…don’t be a loser Anna. I’m just not so sure about the idea of living in the school…” Nana sounded unsure. “It’s okay! Think about it, no one will be telling us what to do, we can party all nigh if we wanted!” Anna’s frown turned upside down, “Urgg, how can they serve these food to the students?!” Anna yelled. “Tell me about it…” mumbled Nana, “ by the way, this afternoon Melissa, this girl from Gr12 is going to bring us to our room.” “Oh really? How come nobody ever told me about it?” Anna asked. “She’s 2 years older than us, so be nice to her.” Nana continued on totally ignoring Anna. “Let me help you with those luggages.” A girl came up to them and offered help. “Aw, thank you so much. My name is Nana, this is my sister Anna. We are new to this school.” Nana introduced herself to the girl. “So you are Nana, I’m Melissa. I’ve heard so much about you, and your Dad. I love the books he wrote, ‘Baby Say It One More Time’, ‘What are Kids for?’, I mean he’s very—“ Melissa said with a stop. “Yeah, we love our Dad too. So can you bring us to our room now? I really need to go to the you-know-what place.” Anna getting annoyed. “Sure no problem,” Melissa said disappointedly. “Boy, that girl can talk,” Anna lay on her bed after Melissa had showed them their room.”The only thing I don’t like is that…this school is only for girls.” “I’m gonna pass out, I just want to get some sleep.”Nana said tiredly.” Goodnight Anna.” ‘No…don’t leave me, I don’t want your money’ “Anna!! Wake up, wake up!!” Nana called as she throws her pillow at Anna’s bed. “Huh…ha?! Breakfast is ready?” Anna woke up half snoring. “Did you hear that? It sounds like someone is crying.” Nana shivered. The crying continues. ‘Please, how could you do this to me…I loved you so much…NO! Don’t hang up on me!!’ “That’s strange, ask Melissa tomorrow, but now let’s just get to sleep.” Anna suggested, but she and nana both know that they won’t get any sleep tonight. “Hi, Melissa,” Anna and Nana both greeted. “Last night Anna and I heard this sad girl calling her boyfriend or something and sounded sick, so we were wondering if there’s anything we can do for her.” Nana asked kind-heartedly. Suddenly Melissa’s face turned very pale. “Melissa, are you okay?” the first time Anna looked concerned. “Yes, I’m okay. It’s better for you girls if you don’t know what had happened…” her voice faded. “Tell us please! We want to know what’s going on.” “Yeah, it can’t be that bad.” snapped Anna.” We just wanted to help.” “You can’t help her, no one can…now. She was one of the prettiest girl in our school 3 years ago, until one day she found out that she’s pregnant with this boy from some rich private school. He knew that if the school found out about the girl, he would get expelled. So he offered the girl a great amount of money to just break up with her. She didn’t want the money, because she loved him too much. The boy thought if he could just take her unborn baby away, then everything would be okay. He paid two punks to beat her up while she was on her way to her dorm. She ran back to her dorm and locked herself up in her room. Two days later, the dorm adviser found her laying on the floor, her baby was connected to her stomach by a knife, it was so tiny, but there was no blood, none was found. The police come to a conclusion that she was stabbing her stomach with a fruit knife to dig up her baby. After she had seem her baby, she stabbed the baby and herself together at last.” Melissa said sadly, Nana and Anna stared at each other. Melissa continued on.” But remember what I’ve said about no blood was found? That’s not entirely true, because the only part –“ “Oh, so we are supposed to believe all this nonsense that you people made up to scare the freshmen? I’m not that dumb you know.” Anna interrupted. “I’m sorry, Anna never believed in those things about ghost –“Nana apologized for Anna. “I’m leaving,” Anna left without saying a goodbye. But Nana didn’t, she stayed to listen to want Melissa had to say next. “If that stupid girl is crying again, I swear I would slap her in the face,” Anna said before she went to bed. The crying started right after it was passed midnight. “That’s it! I’m going to smack the heck out of her. But I bet it’s Melissa, trying to scare us just because I interrupted her on our first day. Its coming from upstairs,” Anna grabbed a flash light and jumped on up her feet. Nana followed after her, she’s too scared to stay in the room alone. The crying got louder and louder as they get closer to Room 306. A sudden cold wind was coming out from nowhere, now Anna is getting scared for real, but it’s too late to go back now, she had to find out what’s going on. They stopped in front of Room 306 as the crying stopped. “The crying stopped, I think we should go back now.” Nana said her both legs shaking. “Shhhh,” Anna said as she peeked into the keyhole of Room 306to see what’s inside. All she could see was red, nothing else. “What did you see?” Nana asked nervously. “Red, that’s all I can see.” Anna answered. Nana fell on the floor with a thud. Anna turned back and asked, “What’s wrong Nana, you feeling alright?” Nana answered, “Melissa said that … they can’t find her blood anywhere, except for one place… it’s her eyes, her eyes were filled with blood.”
