Summary-
King Sairi is making arrangements for
his youngest son (Dari Mei) to marry a
young boy. He goes through many servants
and royalty but none of them fit his
taste. At this point in the story the
children are 4 and 3.

Story-
Rei Suzaku, a servant in the palace of
paradise awaits for his name to be
called by the king. He is the second to
the last and is highly nervous, there
are a lot of good competitors. He had
never done something like this before
were one child will be chosen to wed the
young prince. He never asked questions
about his duty before but now he was
streaming with nothing but questions.
'Could my son really be chosen by the
beautiful king?' he asked him self as he
looked over at Miyabi who was just
playing with a baby red bird.
The young man before him waked out of
the Kings chamber with his head hung,
just like many others before him. He was
obviously rejected him and his daughter.
'again?' Rei watched them as they walked
past Miyabi, "Miyabi come here." Miyabi
looked at his father and obeyed and
wobbled to his side. Rei sat there
nervously and told himself to relax and
that everything would be alright when
finally the Kings servant came out and
called out, still looking down at his
list of people "Rei Suzaku?"


Haithen Akonna looks at his eldest son
who was staring out the window as the
younger of the two was actually paying
attention to the lesson going on. He
couldn't help the sigh that escaped from
him. His eldest was to lead the kingdom
when he turned 23 but already he was
slacking on his duties. But than being
so young he couldn't really blame the
boy. The King held his hand up and the
teacher stopped mid-sentence.
"Go ahead and go play you two." King
Haithen said softly with a gentle smile
on his face. Zel looks up eagerly and
gave his father a kiss on the cheek
before running outside to go relax in
the sun and finish reading the book he
had started a few days ago.


Rei was sitting with the King discussing
Miyabi and Dari. While Miyabi was
sitting the playing with his bird he
brought along and showed it to Dari. The
boys seem to get along very nicely there
was no problems with them and the King
admired that.
Despite the Kings reactions toward
Miyabi Rei was still very nervous and
didnt know if he should accept the Kings
offer or not. He glanced at Miyabi and
smiled and made a motion with his head
so that Miyabi could play out side.
Miyabi smiled back and wobbled out side
with the tiny bird he carried
around.


Zel walked through the streets of his
kingdom. well not his yet but one day it
would be. He realized this but for now
he wasn't worried. His father was still
young and healty and things were good.
Though they were at war with the
paradise birds but the people were still
happy. He walks to the woods and to the
small lake he had found about two miles
away from the castle. smiling he sits
donw in the shade and opens his book.


Once outside Miyabi chased after his bird as it flew through the sky gracefully. He chased it all the way to the forest which wasn't to far and stumbled into the lake because he wasn't paying attention. Miyabi was under for quite awhile and his bird flew in circles above. Then he suddenly popped his head up out of the water and started struggling "HELP! HELP!" he began to cry and struggled more.


Zel opened his eyes when he heard a noise. He had drifted asleep while reading. He hears it again. Someone was yelling for help. Sitting up he looks around to see a boy around his age maybe younger splashing in water. He watched as he went under again. Qucikly Zel runs to the water and dives in. He swims down hand reaching out. He grabs the hand of the other boy and pulls him up and to the surface. He breaks the water the with a gasp and swims towards the shore holding onto the little boy. He pulls them to the shore and up and out of the water. He lays there panting in the sun.


Miyabi saw Zel swimming toward him and when he saw the out stretched hand he grabbed it and held on tight. As soon as they hit the shore Miyabi coughed and panted as he collapsed on the grass. "Th...Thank you..." He breathed and choked out.
Miyabi looked at Zel and noticed he was the cobra prince and got very nervous as he sat up. His paradise bird landed near them and gave out a loud caw as it hopped toward them as it tried to act tough.


Zel watched as the bird landed on the ground hopping around and how nervously the boy was acting now. His father would kill him right now if he saw that he had saved the enemy but the boy was only a little younger then himself. He couldn't let him drown even if the boy was a paradise bird. He smiled softly at the younger boy.
"You okay?" He asks softly.


Miyabi glanced at Zel for a second before speaking "ah...yes...thank you..." He fiddled with his fingers and then looked back at Zel, "uh your a Kobra right?" he asked curiously as he scooted away a tiny bit. He also looked around very nervously, looking for the snakes or the family or a servant.


"You're welcome." Zel says softly. "Um.... yeah i'm a Cobra." He watched the boy move away a bit and look around nervously. "Don't worry it's just me here." He says softly again not wanting to frighten the boy. "So...ah...what's your name?"


"uhhh my name is Miyabi suzaku... my fathers a servant that works in the kings palace." Miyabi looked at Zel and smiled back, " oh, whats yours?"
The paradise bird just flew to a near by tree branch and was calming down a little bit. He also cawed a few times, making Miyabi jump a little.


"Prince Zel Akonna." Zel says smiling softly. He moves closer to the boy, knees almost toughing. He grabs a stray hair from Miyabi's face tucking it behind his ear. "So what are you doing why out here and so far from home?"


Miyabis cheeks turned red and he went all shy, "oh um... my bird i was following it and trying to catch it...so i ended up out here and fell into the pond." Miyabi smiled "why are you out here? your royalty arnt you supposed to be in school?"


Zel smiled misheviously. "I don't care for school so my dad let me take the rest of the day off." Zel smiles at the younger boy. "I love to come here and read." Zel says. "It's so nice here." He chuckles at how red the boy is.


"oh, are you the oldest?" Miyabi was becoming more comfortable as birds flew around, playing in the suns rays. "are you supposed to get married when you become king? what are you going to do?" Miyabi was beginning to go into his question phase and ask a number of questions.


Zel chuckled softly at the boy's curiousity. He lays back putting his hands behind his head.
"Yeah I'm the eldest. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get older." Zel blushes softly. "I....I don't see women that way." He says blushing even more.

Miyabi laid next to Zel and looked up at the sky, the winds breeze were absolutely soothing. It was a peaceful place of solitude and time for relaxing. "Our prince has to get married during his time of being king...they are viewing all the children in our village to see a match fit for him. boys or girls it dose not matter," Miyabi glanced at Zel for a second and then looked back at the sky. "my father is being interviewed right now, although i hope he doesn't want me that be scary. I want to be able to choose who i want to marry." They sat there for a little bit in silence just looking at the sky and listening to the birds bicker and chirp.

Off in the distance Zel could hear a voice calling. He sits up quickly listening.
"Prince Zel!" A male voice shouts. An all too formiliar voice. The young prince stands immedatily.
"I have to go." He says softly looking down at the younger boy. "My personal guards are looking for me. If they find you here they will either kidnap you or kill you." Zel bent down and gave the younger boy a small kiss on the cheek before leaving.


"oh umm ok bye prince Zel" Miyabi stood and watched as the prince left and then he could hear someone calling him in the distance. 'MIYABI!" it was his father Rei and he quickly scurried off to see him.


Ten years later

Zel dodged the sword coming at him and easliy blocks the second. He parries a third weapon and spins out of the circle the three oppents made around him. Sweat drips from his body as his breath comes in harsh rasps. He dodges again knocking the sword from the other guys hand. He quickly switches to the second and deffeats him along with the third. A soft around of applause could be heard in the court yard. Zel watches his father walk down the steps.
"Good job my boy." His father says resting a hand on his shoulder.
"You have become a most wonderful warrior. The best in the kingdom. You've earned a break." Zel smiles and bows to his father before quickly running off. He grabs some food and a good book and goes to the lake that he had the little paradise bird at. In the ten years he had barely gone to that lake and the few times he had the boy hadn't been there. He would be fifteen now. He most likely didn't even remember him. WE walks to the lake and strips off his shirt. Laying down in the shade he starts to read his book as he munches on an apple.



Miyabi was sitting on a rock not to far from the lake. He was playing his Wooden carved flute as birds surrounded him and sang along. All the sudden the biggest bird there, which was Miyabi's life partner the phoenix lala lifted Miyabi in the air and dropped him in the lake. (so they meet again the same way lol) Miyabi resurfaced and swam to shore as he mumbled. He stopped when he spotted Prince Zel, "its you..." He looked stunned.


Zel had sat up when he heard the splash and watched as a cute paradise bird swam to the shore. When he spoke his voice was beautiful and had deepened since he'd last seen him. He smiles at Miyabi.
"You remember me. Surpising." The Prince stands and helps Maiyabi up and pulls him over to his tree. He tosses the boy his shirt to dry off with.
"How have you been?" Zel asks plopping down onto the ground.



The boy blushed and looked away so that he didnt see Zel, "oh ive been ok.... how bout you prince?" Miyabi looked into his eyes and smiled. "im sorry if i startled you, i didnt mean to." He wraped Zel's shirt around himself and sat shivering as a cold breeze hit his wet arms. "so when do you take over your kingdom?"


"I've been good. Busy but I guess getting perpared to rule the kingdom in a few years will keep you busy." He smiled at the younger boy. "I won't be king until my 25th birthday unless my fathers dies before that." Seeing the younger boy shivering he wraps his arms around him bring him closer against his body. The boy was growing to be quiet beautiful he noticed.


Miyabi smiled a sweet smile, "its to bad our people are at war...i wish we could stop it some how..." He paused for a second. " perhaps when you are king and i take the throne maybe i can convince my husband to do that for me...if you would be willing to?" Miyabi leaned on Zel and giggled. He noticed that Zel had become a successful young man and almost envied him in his success. As the "bride" of the youngest prince to paradise, Miyabi just had to look pretty and always positive for his Husband. Though that was hardly ever the case considering Miyabi was such a dim whit and a clouts (sp?).


"Husband?" Zel asked looking at the younger boy. "You're already going to get married?" Zel was surprised that this young bright boy was already getting perpared for marriage. Sure sometimes in his land there were arranged marriages but most of the time people married who they wanted to.


"its an arranged marriage..." Miyabi looked down at his hands. "its not like i really want to but my father and his father agreed so i must.."


Zel lifted the boy's head and lightly kisses him on the lips. He knew he shouldn't, he knew it was wrong because he was the enemy and engaged to the prince. But he couldn't help it. He was just to cute and seeing him sad made him want to cheer him up.


Miyabi blushesd and pulled away. "what are you doing? im going to be getting married and your the enemy and im the enemy for you." Miyabi looked around and saw one of the kobra guards coming to get Zel to finish up his practes for the day. Miyabi got up and ran to go hide. " bye Zel i will see you later maybe."
