The sounds of the rain pelting her makeshift home awakened Kikyou of the Hebi Clan, and, with a groan, she rolled over and pulled on her sundaru. She had slept in her kimono to prepare for training at the Temple. "Rayoki?" Kikyou called out to her brother. He wasn't home. "Strange," she murmured wearily in the Ancient Language. "He should be home." Kikyou opened the flap of the tent-house, shielding her eyes against the sunlight. Before her amber eyes, she saw the crimson horizon stretching as far as she could see. The silver dome of the Temple illuminated with a white sheen.
