What does it truly mean to be Canadian? What are Canada’s identities? Many people ask this question and some try to find out what it is. Many people if asked this question, will all tell you many different things or ideas, and every person you ask will all tell you different things that can make you Canadian and they all can be true. For what does it truly means to be Canadian? It is not one’s look on Canada, or ones idea, but it is how everyone thinks of it, and how everyone joins in together to make Canada what it is today, for a place can not be made of only one person. Some will tell you that living, or being born in Canada is being Canadian, well others will tell you differently and that’s not just what makes you Canadian, there’s more that goes with it, and that its not that easy to explain. There are so many things that you can be and still be Canadian. I will show you want it means to be Canadian and what it’s like to live in Canada. I will show you the many things that Canada holds and why being Canadian is the best thing ever.

So right now your probably saying that I didn’t tell you anything and what does it mean to be Canadian? Though really I have told you a lot right now. I just told you that its not ones look. Well if we take a look, Canada is a multicultural, multinational place that invites everyone from far and wide to come and share the land. We have two official languages English and French, which are use greatly throughout the land. Well many people speak English and French so is that really an identity to Canada. What we are more known to speaking is English and French so it must add to our identity though not all people speak it and through in random “Eh” like we Canadians do. We respect everyone’s traditions and beliefs well welcoming then with open arms. Though some say that Canada is beginning to loss its identity to the U.S.A. from things that distract us from what we are today. Now many people are wondering what is the real Canadian identity. For Canada has an identity different from the world, every country does. We are a peacekeeping, and a world of dreams from the eyes of people coming here. We help other counties in need and help them out when they ask. If something strike Canada is there to stand up and support its name. Even when we can say no we don’t. That’s why it is so great to live here. Canada takes care of all people around the world and even if they are not Canadian we help them. Though it’s that what makes us who we are? Lets look on other things that we are known for.

We also have a different government then some other people, that also shows we do thinks differently too. In Canada we have a Prime Minister. We are also democratic meaning everyone have a say in things not just one people running the whole things but everyone gets to choose to make the world a little better for everyone. We have three different governments. We have the federal, provincial, and municipal. The head of the state of government is the Queen. Then it’s the Prime Minister.

Canadian’s national symbols are things that add to its Identity. There are many symbols though Canada and each symbol adds something new to the identity of Canada. Now you may wonder what is an identity. An identity is any set of characteristics and symbols that many Canadians and people all over the worlds regard as expressing their unique place and role in the world. Like the Canadian Flag, with its all red strips and maple leaf in the middle on a white back round. No country anywhere has the same flag. This really shows Canada when they see it, for it’s the thing that is known as the Canadian Flag around the world. People all over know that the maple leaf is a symbol of Canada. This flag is on many things such as cloths, hats, chairs and other things that involve Canada its on documents to.
The Coat of Arms, or another name for it is the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom, they are put on every office in the government of Canada. This symbol is greatly known through Canada by many people and around other places. It shows great beauty and stands out on building with they are placed marking it as a government place.
The Great Seal of Canada is another greatly used symbol of Canada it is put on every Canadian Document of Canada. This seal dates far back till the beginning reign of Queen Elizabeth the Second. This is put on lots of papers that have great value.
The most greatly most popular symbol of Canada is the Maple Leaf. It on the Canadian flag and it’s the Canadian Symbol on other things. It has been the Canadian symbol for a long time, since early as the 1700. This symbol is also on the penny, though between the years of 1876 and 1901, all the Canadian coins in Canada had this symbol on it. The maple leaf is on the coat of arms to. People looking at the maple leaf can guess this that it came from Canada.
The Beaver is a great symbol of Canada. The European explorers would sell the pelts in the late 1600 and early 1700’s. With this pelts people made hats and other types of clothing. The beaver is a national symbol to show that this is Canada, it is one the nickel and it was once on the first Canadian postage stamp that was called the, “Three Penny Beaver”. It received it royal assent on March 24, 1975 and attained official status as an emblem of Canada. Its is also the national animal of all Canada.
The word “hockey” is known though all of Canada, just the word can bring smiles on peoples faces. It is a great Canadian past time. It is also one of Canadians worldwide identity. Many people around the world play the game. This game is Canadians official sport. The other official sport in Canada is the sport called Lacrosse. This game was here longer then the other game hockey and not many people know that is another official sport, and become lost in the years.

Now I have showed you some of Canada’s Identities though does this truly make us Canadian or is there more. We have flags, and sports. Though what about our culture. Like I said before we are a multicultural place. This means we don’t have just one culture but many. If you look we have the European, they brought in the fur trade one of Canada’s past times. Then we have the natives that lived here long ago. We have many people that come from all over the world bring new things to Canada. So if you at it we are really different from the world. We are one place that doesn’t have one point of view though many to make one beautiful country.
Can the land of a Canada be an Identity to? We have many landforms, from the Rocky Mountains and the coasts of the Pacific Ocean, prairies and fields in the in west, and the Great Lakes, Niagara Falls and waters in the east. Everything Canada is made from is its Identity. Canada has get varieties of waters from lakes, rivers and streams all over the area. From the people to the landscape everything matters when you look at what makes up the identity of Canada. For one thing can change the whole outlook make it all different and therefor what Canada is. We have great forests and different landforms. Not one place is like the other.
Animals, is an another thing that brings an Identity to the Country of Canada. We have a lot of different from far and wide, big or small, all over the world. They have different colors and shapes. Some live on land or in water
