Spiral is the force that causes evolution. Specifically, it's what causes random mutations in DNA for specific species. It's an endless,incredible power, rivaling that of Kain's and Setsumei's.

SCP or, rather, 'Singular Beings', cannot use Spiral Power, as they cannot evolve. Even if they give birth, there will be no random mutations, due to an abscence of spiral power. Darwinian evolution, to a point, will proceed via selective breeding, but Spirtal power will be inaccessable. Formerly 'normal' beings cannot touch it either. This includes Vampires, Werewolves, undead, those bitten by radioactive animals, etc.

Normally, Spiral power is a trait that lies buried deep in the human body, much like the Soul. It is impossible to even touch unless one of two conditions are met:

1) High emotion, determination, and desire to succeed, beyond the point of mere anger or desire to live.

2) A sharp loss of life in the given species, nigh-extermination.

When the Touch occurs, it is a dramatic event, characterized by an intense release of Spiral power. Usually, if the being is going to ever Touch, it happens before the age of twenty, it is impossible to Touch after thirty or forty.

Manifestations of Spiral power look like flames, flickering and taking the form of a double helix as they taper. The uses of the power are manifold:

Creation/Upgrade to equipment, regardless of laws of physics

Destruction, regardless of laws of physics.

Feats of strength that surpass the physical body.

Interdimensional/Spacial travel, again regardless of laws of physics.

The Auditors oddly have little issue with Spiral Power, and indeed, seem to encourage its manifestation, especially in intelligent species. This is due to the eventual end point of the use of Spiral energy: The Spiral Nemesis.

One cannot go about breaking the laws of the universe without repurcussions. When enough matter is created from nothing, eventually the universe will crumble to a single point, then explode. Or, the gathered mass with spontanouesly spawn a black hole. Not even the Auditors have worked this out yet, but they are sure that the Spiral Nemesis will wipe out almost all life, and thye would be happy to only run the paperwork of a seamless, clockwork universe without the messy organisms getting in the way.
