Wammy house England 11/1/2000
L and Wammy pasted back and forth in front of Nears room waiting for him to wake up. So they could give him the news of his parent’s death. They waited hours it seemed and he still hadn’t gotten up. Just when they were about to leave and tell him later his door opened and there sat the cute short nine year old with messy white hair. Near looked up at them as he rubbed his eyes.
“What are you guys doing outside my room?” Near asked with a big yawn.
“We have some bad news we need to tell you Near” L said looking down at his bare feet. “Last night your parents were murdered”
“What?? No they can’t be dead they promised me they would take me home next week. They promised.” Near said trying to hold back tears.
L held Near and started rocking back and forth singing a song that he sang when his parents died.”Oath thy bird take thy flight far above the sorrows of this sad night.”
Near then fell asleep in his arms with salty wet tears running down his face and his finger in his hair playing with a curly cu.
“Wammy “ L said “can you please get Nears papers ready for when the man on the phone comes to pick him up, I think Roger would like to know right where they are.”
“Yes master L” Wammy said “I’m also going to show Roger around so he knows where all the kids new rooms are.”
“That’s a perfect idea.” L said standing up holding Near in his arms “I’m going to put him in his bed “
L walked into Nears room and put Near down on his bed and said.” I hope the man that’s going to pick you up won’t disappoint you” L ran his hand through Nears hair, and tucked him under his fluffy blanket that his parents sent him from Spain
