Kay, Here's my original story: CHAPTER ONE!
Mister Sarahbrough's school for the specially gifted
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter One I hate Mondays. Particularly, this Monday. Would you like to know why? I’m transferring. Transferring out of MY high school into my grandfather’s Boarding School. What a bother. Why move when I like where I am already? Ah well, no use in backing out now.
I was thinking over this whole ‘transfer’ thing when my mom knocked on my door. “Gabrielle, it’s time to go. Are you packed yet, dear?” spoke my elegant and British mother.
“Yes mom. Is Uncle Fayen going to meet me at the airport?” I asked her, hoping inside that she would just call off the whole thing. Why, I remember when she gave me the news like it was yesterday.
It had been a particularly foggy day, never a good day in my book. I was reading the book ‘Twilight’ by Stephanie Meyer, when my phone rang. I checked the caller I.D, and it was my mom calling from her work.
“Ella dear? Hi. It’s Mommy. Uncle called, he wants you to go to his boarding school next semester.” I almost dropped the phone. Then, my mother continued. “I have scheduled your flight for two weeks from now. Is that okay?” Then she paused, making sure I got the message. Kisses. See you later, darling.” With that, my mom hung up on the other end of the phone. I KNEW this day was going to be bad.
My flashback session was interrupted abruptly when my mom waved a hand in front of my face.
“Ella, earth to Ella~ It’s time to go~” My mom sang.
I snapped out of my trance instantly. “O-oh. Sorry mom. Okay, let’s go.” I stammered, trying to regain my cool posture.
With that, my mom grabbed my bags and shooed me out the front door of our house.
When we arrived at the airport, I looked at my watch. We were two hours early. “Uh mom? Why are we two hours early?” I asked my mom with a questioning glance.
“Because my little Ella, we have to go through baggage and such.” My questioning look didn’t fade, so she continued. “Why don’t you just freshen up in the bathroom while we wait for our turn to have our stuffed scanned?” My mother stated, pointing to a nearby bathroom.
With that, I walked over to the restroom to change and redo my hair.
When I arrived inside, I looked into a mirror at myself. As I brushed through my dark-black hair, I glanced at my image. I was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, accompanied by a black beret and spaghetti-strapped dress. “Ah, not bad.” I stated to the image in front of me, calculating.
After a few minutes of looking at myself, I decided I could do better. So I went into a nearby stall and changed. I was wearing the same long-sleeved shirt, but with a small kaki jacket over it. I was wearing jeans too, with a red plaid mini-skirt on top. Once I looked at the mirror again, I was pleased with what I saw. “Nice.” Well, I was done changing, so I calmly walked out of the bathroom in my new getup.
When I walked outside into the crowded airport terminal, I started looking around for my mom. “Mom? Mom~?” My efforts were fruitless.
Suddenly, I bumped into a boy. Hmm.....he looks about my age...
“Watch it!” The boy spoke. He had blond hair, dazzling blue eyes, and a cute aura about him. The only bad part about him was the mean look on his face.
“What are you looking at?!” He yelled at me rudely.
Ok, I am NOT in the mood for this. So instead of answering his question, I looked over his shoulder to see my mom sitting on a chair.
“Hello? Answer me!! What were you looking at?!” Whoa. Obviously, he had MAJOR attention issues.
“Excuse me.” I said abruptly, weaving my way around him instead of actually confronting him.
I ran to my mom. “Mom I’m back!” Suddenly, I noticed a weird look on her face.
“A boy? Come on dear, we’re going all the way to England!! This is no time for little crushes!”
I started to feel heat rise to my face. “M-mom! I don’t think of boys that way yet! Stop kidding! I have a lot more restraint than you, you know!”
My mom had this crazy cat-like grin on her face. “Oh Ella, if I were as young as you I would go after every chance I had!!”
She wasn’t going to let this go. Thankfully, our flight was called just that moment.
“Flight 46B is now loading! All passengers to flight 46B may now board!”
With a large sigh, I climbed onto the plane that was to take me to my destination.
