Rest in Peace Beloved
Okay, thank you for that moment. I miss him a lot still. Every day that goes by. I have other cats, and I've lost other cats. But Bruce was special. From the day he was born he was mine, and he knew it. There are so many things I could say about him. One memory sticks out above most of the others. I laid down on the loveseat to get a minute of rest. Bruce came running in from no where and jumped up on me. Then he laid across my neck and started purring. We stayed that way for a long time, me petting him, him asleep, purring.
When we had to put him down, I could hear him crying all the way to the grief room as the nurse carried him in. He was in a lot of pain. Then she laid him down in my arms, and when I started petting him, he quieted down and began to purr. That made my tears fall even more. My brother and I got 5 minutes to spend alone with him. Our last 5 minutes. We didn't talk much. Just sat there all 3 of us loving each other, until it was time and the doctor came in. I held him close while she gave him the injection, and felt his body relax in my arms. That was when my brother started crying too. It was a terrible moment for us.
Well, that's it for now. There's not much else to tell. I have a boring life.
