Hello babies. Prom was crazy.
@ D @ I don't know if I even feel like typing an update about that right now. LOL.
We woke up at around 8:00, washed our hair, then we went to Franklin for our hair appointments.
I got my bangs back, though they're too thin for my tastes. My hairstylist gave me this funky puff thing on the top of my head. She said she thought it looked better. I went along with it because I didn't want to make her mad. You NEVER want to make your hairdresser angry. D: Especially when they hold your LIFE in their hands.
But I had these thick, beautiful curls all day. So did Ashli. I'll show pictures later, for sure.
Anyway, after the hairdresser, we went down to Ashli's work where her boss left directions for us to pick up our corsages. DID I MENTION SHE'S THE ONE THAT PAID FOR THEM? AND TO GET OUR HAIR DONE? She's a freakin' saint.
So we went to get our flowers, then we went home to put them in the freezer.
After that, we came back to Fashion Bug, and a coworker of Ashli's did our make up. She sorta put it on too thick, though.
So after that we put on our dresses. Those adhesive bras. And I finished painting my toes. Then we headed to my school for pictures! And we had them done. :3 I expected a parent or somebody with a digital camera to be taking pictures. (Since our school is pretty poor) But they actually had professionals there! So we got a package that consists of 18 wallets and like 2 5x10's or something like that. And I must say he looked quite dashing.
So after that, we came home for a bit and got ready to go to Valentino's Restaurante. A place we had made a reservation at.
After a GAINT hassle with directions, we finally made it (Though a little late, we had to push our reservation back 30 minutes) I had this Pollo Y Sorrentina dish which is a massive chicken breast covered in white wine, tomato sauce, lots of mozzarella, eggplant, and proschuto (italian ham), of course served on a steaming bed of angel hair pasta (imported from Naples!)
Our waiter was sort of rude, though. But the owner was there and he treated us like we were restaurant reviewers or something! So no one was too disagreeable.
He kept coming to our table and asking if we were enjoying our meal and telling us how lovely we looked. The other patrons there were nice too. They would greet you and tell you to have a nice evening when they left. And this one lady started up a conversation with us about prom. She looked like a psychic or something with all the bohemian jewelry she had on. She reminded me a bit of Professor Trelawny or whatever her name is from Harry Potter.
Did I mention the restaurant had valet parking too? Very nice.
Ashli had a lasagna dish of some kind. We finished the evening off with a tiny cheesecake that looked and tasted store-bought except they garnished it with a sprig of mint or parsley or something and poured that strawberry jelly stuff on it. Kinda stupid. They charged way too much for such a tiny portion, I'm sure.
But overall, I was very pleased with it.
After that, we went home, picked up our corsages, and hit the prom a little late.
We got there to face UTTER disappointment. The only thing they played all night was this funky, loud, rappy CRAP. And NO SLOW SONGS (Save for one, but I'll get to that). Despite all the song suggestions I made! They didn't even play the song that I consider Ashli and mine's. They didn't play anything at all good.
But we danced anyway, because it would be stupid to let all of the other kids have fun. So we dragged all of my friends out of their chairs and we hit the dance floor. XD *rolls eyes*
We got a thumbs up and an eyebrow waggle from the really effeminate, metro guy I know named Alan. Then a slow song played and Ashli and I started dancing.
It was just me and her. No one else existed in the entire world at that moment. Everything else just melted away as she held me in her arms and we swayed to the slightly rap-influenced slow song.
Then I got a very rude tap on my shoulder. *record scratch*
Turning around, I see this very chunky, very big boned black girl named Shanika wearing a blue dress that has a giant slit up the front almost to her crotch. I never liked this girl since she's a b***h (She's on the girl's basketball team, go figure) and this was not a welcome sight.
"ARE Y'ALL TWO LESBIANS?" she said in her deeeeeep, annoying voice. A girl who was beside us was all "They've been dating three years."
Shanika looked at us wide-eyed. With a "daaaaaaaang" expression on her face. The seemed to clear her resolve and then said, "Prove it."
I look forward to see Ashli leaning towards me about to kiss me. "Oh s**t", I think. "Are we going to kiss on cue for these people?"
So I give her a light peck on the lips and Shanika slinks (Stumbles, really. In her high heels that look awful on her) away. Congratulations commence from all sides of us.
I turn towards Ashli.
"Did we just kiss on cue?"
She shrugs.
We didn't stay for much longer after that. The music was too loud and rap-ish for my tastes. I thought the prom should have had romantic music playing.
My friends and I got really bored sitting around. Anna stacked the very nice wine glasses on the table out of boredom and they all fell and broke. D: That was fail.
So after that, we went home and washed all the hairspray out of our hair and peeled our dresses off. We were way too tired to do anything else so we just went to bed.
Actually, we didn't even stay at the prom for an hour. So much for all of those preparations. But despite it all, I had a REALLY great time with Ashli. It was a fabulous evening.
I was kind of sad that Mactene spent all that money on us for only 45-minutes of prom time. But we told her we danced all night and went to Waffle House with my friends afterwards until the wee hours of the morning. At least she can get decent satisfaction from it all.
Well....no one has bothered me yet. (I'm at school now)
Tomorrow's my very last day of High school and it's not even a full day. So I'm sort of glad that the truth is REALLY out about me now. I never made an attempt to hide it before but I'm sure anyone who didn't know before knows now.
It's a relief.
Well that's it for an update.
