Mags- They have lived together for nearly their whole life (not counting those enslaved ones), and as always yearned for a relationship or to at least express feelings he has. Then he did.

Damon- He was always nice to Stephen. He may have always been hanging out with Eric, but Damon is still a cool guy. He knows that Damon has a lot of sway in the group, like the heart of the team or as someone innocent that you believe in. Damon also will find out why something is bothering him. In the beginning, he was some one he really looked up to, then he was that cool older brother that hung out with that d**k you didn't like, now he is that guy that still has the ability to make him laugh.

Kaleb- Stephen has always looked up to him; he is that cool quiet type that you know he can back. But he knows he bottles up a lot and pushes every one away (or at least Tahl pointed that out to him long ago as a button (as well as his parents)). He is another orphan that genuinely doesn't care what other people think about him. He learned to live at Kaleb's, which meant staying out of his way and not messing things up too much. Now he sees Kaleb as someone who is missing at so many things in life. He has seen a lot of blood and carnage, and knows that with the path Kaleb is taking, he will see just that.

Eric- He and Eric have had a history. And has avoided the b*****d in protection of Eric and himself. Since he avoided Eric he never learned how much Eric has changed or felt bad about it. Even when Eric said he was sorry and was talking about getting him a basket of soaps. He learned to deal with him better (like ignoring his existence or limited his contact). Nowadays, he knows Eric didn't mean it and was scarred himself somewhat (not as bad as Stephen but...) and has what would pass off as forgiven him, "Tahl" has lived very long and seen some pretty bad things and he is not going to have the incident be the most long-affecting thing in his life.

Akiko- He once though about how she is pretty cute and then she made it clear she was not interested in him (and was in Kaleb). He tried to see her as someone on his level that he should try to keep up with her. He learned a lot from her during the weapon training. She has always been known to be all business but so it has been not the best to get grouped with some times.

Grace- They got along fairly well, until she tried to kill Mags. He never really got around to trusting her again. I mean he could still not why she would do that, no matter what the reason to take it upon herself to kill an injured ally. Even now he does not completely trust her, though lets her be he is not too fond of her.
