I'm starting a new journal tradition that will be titled "Fail Of The Week" telling about whatever seems to be the epicest fail of the week. Not that hard to understand.
Fail of the Week!: Pete Wentz signing the Millioniares to DecayDance. Now let me elaborate on how fail-like this is:
DecayDance is home to fairly, and relatively, respectable artists such as Panic at the Disco, The Academy Is...., Gym Class Heroes, Hey Monday, The Hush Sound, and Cobra Starship. Of course, many would object, but I enjoy every single one of these bands. They make good music with good lyrics and, at least, appear to be good people. The women, Cassadee Pope and Greta Salpeter, are talented vocally and lyrically. Plus they appear to be classy and geniunly sweet people. The men, don't make me list them all or I'll be here for a year, are talented and appear to be kind and, at least some, are gentlmen. My point is: This label is full of talented people who have a strong, positive future in the industry. Yet Pete Wentz decides to sign a band that is the complete opposite of what his label has established itself to be. Three of your average looking scene girls(maybe not the most attractive of them) make of The Millionares. Besides their utterly classes, desperate apperance, which should be irrelevant in musical terms, the music is just terrible. I'm at a loss for any other adjectives to describe what I heard just moments ago. All of you who happen to be reading this are my friends and I care about you deeply, so to spare your ears the bleeding and the hours scrubbing blood off of the carpet, I'll summarize what this "music" sounds like. The Millionaires have created "music" that sounds like a failed attempt to rap and then sing. The fail is almost corrected with Technology, but still manages to sound much like a cat that had its tail stomped on by a kid in soccer cleats. And then, maybe, this new band can be salvaged by deep, clever, or heartfelt lyrics?? I'll let the chorus of their debut single speak for itself. I just Got Paid, Let's Get Laid Wasn't that just beautiful? So poetic in the way that Laid rhymes with paid. Oh, bravo, Millionaires, bravo. You have officially succeeded in encouraging today's youth to live on a materialistic foundation and destroy any positive morals. Yay scene girls! And maybe if you guys get on MTV, Audry Kitching will get you your own buzznet page! Doesn't that sound like fun?
You can have whatever opinion you'd like on these young ladies and feel free to share, but if you do enjoy listening to this "music" I, frankly, don't give a damn and give you credit for being born with bleed-proof ears.
See ya next week for more fail!
heart Love for Always. xoxo
