"...May god forgive your sinning soul, demon!"
Barden remembered the words, clear as the bells that tolled every afternoon in the near by Chapel. He felt his eyes stinging. He knew crying was impossible for beings such as he. Yet he still wanted to. He stared out the stained glass window, and messed with the end of his sleeve. His hair fell in front of his face, yet it he knew it had lost its luster. To him, he could see all of his imperfections...he did not care enough to rinse himself off periodically...he never looked any different to the humans eyes. All he needed was his prey to be attracted to him. And he could live out eternity. The human women were curious, at best, to why he was so...Dazzling, was the word, wasnt it? Fantastic. Especially when he got them in bed...His silken lips turned upward at the corners, into one of his most sickening smiles. One of pure lust, and of pure hate at the same time.
"I did used to have a heart." He spoke aloud, to his own thoughts. Standing up for himself, as it seemed. "Even if it was not beating. It was still there." He paused to brush a pale, porcelain finger across his eyelashes. He wished he could cry. It would be such a...a...release of all this pain. This depression. He wanted that more than anything. A release.
