One Love
You,
You are no god,
No angel in my eyes.
No, you are like all of us,
Living on this horrible masterpiece.
One more ******** up,
One more life trying to win,
One more joining the forces,
About to give up completely.
A shipwrecked dreamer,
A child of the dawn,
A runaway prince,
A living death as you continue to fall.
Yet something keeps you going,
Keeps you searching,
Helps you sleep at night,
Gets you up for another day,
But what is it?
A desire?
A hope?
A vision faraway?
No amount of constant thinking,
Or endless wishing,
Will make you realize,
What you’ve actually been feeling.
Only when you settle,
Only when you rest,
Will your heart finally let you know,
That this whole time it’s been,
The true harmony,
Love.
It will stretch its hand out,
Offer to catch you from the harm,
Bring you back to the light,
End all the fighting.
Shall you take its warmth,
Its protection from the evil,
Its haven from the ache?
Will you open the door,
Break the your binding,
Let go of the chains,
And welcome the treasure?
Its not fake,
Not the real feeling.
Its not disguised,
Not the real feeling.
It’s the wind cooling your soul,
It’s the diamond in the sand,
It’s the one,
The only,
Special emotion that can save you.
Here again I ask,
Will you be rescued?
Will you be held from the dark?
Will you accept what I,
A waiting, wandering spirit,
Has to offer to help us both?
Yes,
Love has its ups,
And its downs,
Those terrifying sorrows.
Sorrow.
It will drag you down,
Trapping you in the drop with no escape,
Just to sit there and make the happiness,
Bleed from your ever watching eyes.
You will bend and obey the laws sorrow commands,
Wrenching the very will to live
Right from an aching heart.
Such sorrow is cruel,
Such sorrow is even found,
In the things we consider most dear to us,
Yet these sorrows will vanish,
With more ever-being time.
So what do you say,
Will you join me in the song,
A song called love.

Not to beg,
Not to hurt myself,
