I think I respected him the most out of any character I have ever in my life read about. And, I don't know if my opinion on him is good or evil. I understand that he got out of hand with his, er, 'power', if you call it that, but he had good intentions. He saw that the world was so corupt. He saw that the justice system has flaws and he couldn't stand it. I mean, most people, would be just shocked at those murders getting away or being on the lose - but they would not do a damn thing about it. Light did. When he found the Death Note, he knew the risk he was taking. He knew people would live in fear. But, it didn't matter, cause the world was changing for the better.
His traits amused me so much. He was so optimistic. His ego was a bit annoying. 'God of the new world', was a bit too much. Now, when he started using Misa and killing innocent officers and such, I thought he was going over-board. His smarts totally blew my mind. I had to re-read to understand, and I'm generally I'm a smart person. he was just so clever. I agree with what Light said once to the task force: "If Kira rules the world, he is Justice, if he is caught, he is evil."
