[Concept for a Bar. Random Early Morning inspiration, I guess... if you have any suggestions, SMART ONES, leave a comment. Other wise, read it and bugger off. <3]
Red Velvet
A small, two story building- three if you count the Basement- stands on the corner of a busy street in the Red Light District. Many rush past it to get to a more provocative location mostly likely full of dancing girls, and some lean against the building, just loitering and chatting away. The first floor on the outside is made of stone, gray with no windows. The second floor however holds ornate arches, and slightly tinted glass, revealing them to be windowed doors. On the inside of the doors are thick, heavy rouge colored velvet curtains, bound back by a thick braided golden rope.
But back to that first floor. The entry to the building is a heavy-looking wooden double door. Opening the door, if you glance down you see small holes. Glancing up reveals a sturdy steel grate. It comes down as a safety measure during closing time... and other times that just can't be mentioned. Proceeding a few feet the small hall breaks into a sizable room. There's a long counter, with many stools along it. One swinging door on the counter, to allow entry to Barkeeps. On either side of the bar is a door, and a staircase. The door on the left has a Blue Footprint on the door, while the door on the right has a Pink Footprint. On either side of the stairway are small red velvet curtains.
If you do think to turn and inspect the decor, one realizes that everything is decorated with red velvet. The stools, and the chairs. No windows. Looking back to the bar, there is a wide variety of multicolored bottles. In the middle of the back wall is a door, hidden by- you guessed it, a red velvet curtain. It leads to the storage area where more drinks are kept; and leads down into the basement... where specialty drinks are found.
If one chooses to proceed to the second floor, there would be slight confusion for a moment to what the room is for. Nothing is located up there. It's an empty, empty room- Until you notice the curtains. It's something like a dance-hall or a party-room. Walking to the glass doors, you peek out to see the cat-walk that leads all the way around the floor, boardered by a three and a half foot tall stone railing. From here one can look out at the rest of the street, busy with glowing, blinking, and glimmering lights of the rest of the District.
Venturing back Downstairs, one notices a girl, who doesn't look old enough to be there, seated behind the counter. Unlike the rest of the bar, she's clad in blue and teal. She sticks out, a lot. She converses quietly with a woman in white. The woman turns her head, purple hair falling everywhere.
"I see you're all set up then... just remember, you can always call. Your Grandfather and I will always come dig you out of whatever mess you're in and-"
The younger girl interjects, rolling a pair of large blue eyes. "Mom, I have it covered! Go and enjoy yourself! Shoo!" The spunky young girl chases the woman from the bar, and turns to smile at you. "Welcome to Red Velvet! Huh? Why am I in Blue? I don't know. Why is everything Red? Because it's my favorite color!"
And that's the bar. Welcome to Red Velvet, and enjoy your time here.
