Kujo's Quibblings
My thoughts My day My life Welcome to my world...
The showdown that cost me about $22
Ever grab a game you found in some off corner pile in your room or closet, pop it in, and realize, "Why did I stop playing this. This game is wonderful!"

Okay... now, ever do the exact opposite?

Went to gamestop about a week ago... not something I do regularly mind you just a wild hair of sorts. I have nothing against them, it's just... it's like when you walk into a card shop you're not familiar with and everyone in there turns to look at you like the fresh meat you've just become. Everyone is all hunched over in the shadows like some kinda' back-alley crack den, or some pre-pubecent teen in the basement silhouetted by the computer screen featuring his latest porn videos.

I've had nothing but good service from gamestop mind you as well, I just don't feel particularly right in there. I happened to have a gift card. Odd... I only vaguely remember getting it and can't recall going in to by anything, so what the hell, right?

Nabbed two games that day... one good and one atrotious. I'll let you guess which is which.

I grabbed the first Dot Hack game and Steambot Chronicles.

Vote time...

DOT HACK or STEAMBOT CHRONICLES

I hate Dot Hack. Enjoy the completely linear story and gameplay mechanic about as much fun as base mathematics. The whole game has nothing to do with skill, just stats. Your character's stats suck by the way. Don't say yours are good, because imagine if the game hadn't chosen you class for you. You could've been better. I also remember renting this game once and also hating it back then... why then the sudden lapse in judgement? Stupid Kujo, stupid...

Steambot Chronicles is a steam-punk extravaganza!! Non-linear, coustomizable, and sand-box style RPG elements. Make you money hustling pool, battling in the arena, or working the starving artist routine on the corner with your trusty harmonica. Customize your very own Mech for either recreation or combat. Collect or design your own liscence plates. Hell, you even have to refuel the mech like a real car and make sure your character has a steady meal to expect or he can actually starve.

In conclusion, I don't like Dot Hack and if you do I consider you a strange glutton for punishment. You might want to try Baroque fro the PS2. Also, Steambot Chronicles happens to be a cozy warm bucket of goodness. I love it and if you don't go stand by those people previously categorized by liking that Hack game.

By the way, I didn't take in a gift card... I took in the detachable part from th top. I had to spend real people money! crying

Have a good one folks...

~Kujo~
