no wind, no sound, no movement.
nothing.
time stands still,
but that's not what makes my heart throb.
the world is frozen,
and all hearts stopped beating.
but that's not why I'm frightened.
because right before me,
there's lake, with a surface as smooth as silk
and a dark as a moonless night -those I fear.
so enchanting that you will lose yourself in the moment.
but when I go forward, to stare in the blank water,
I see nothing, and I mean nothing at all.
where did my reflection go?
where have I gone?
that's what scaring me,
that's what's making my heart throb.
that's what makes me wake up screaming.
