He heals with herbs and the blessings of earth. Kyou has a (not so) secret relationship with Sou, the Priest's apprentice. Kyou is a homosexual priest in training. He is learning under the care of his father, who does not know about his orientation. Kyou's attribute of Earth gets him a spot on the team because they need another healer. But he is mostly regretful because he leaves Sou behind. Being seperated from Sou, Kyou always threatens to kill himself because he cannot be with his lover.
He cannot use swords and he cannot use his fists. Kyou can use a bow very well, though. His ultimate move, "Sacred Arrow", shines the earth's light upon his target and strikes with a piercing arrow. He can only use this move after he's absorbed 2 days worth of Earth's sun. Kyou has a tendensy to cry.
Kyou has an obsession with protecting his sister and can't stand it when Shinji gets too close to her. He understands later that Konata wishes to protect him because she loves him as much as he loves Sou.
