Ian's Trial
There is no denying that I enjoy a good mystery, and this is very mysterious and much more complex than it would appear at first.
My thoughts and theories on the trial:
Thought #1: Why bots? Bots are illegal in GAIA, so why are they overseeing the whole process? This point is moot in accordance to the trial, so I'll set it aside for the moment.
Thought #2:Why is Ian not there to talk for himself? In a normal court of law, the defendant would be allowed to discuss with his lawyer, in this case a brand new defense bot.
Thought #3: Who is the prosecutor? I don't mean the bot! I mean, *who* is the one who accused Ian of arson? He/She should *also* be there to bring up their own points.
Thought #4: What is up with the character analysis on day 1? We all know that Ian is very aloof and easy-going, most of the time. ... Ok, so given that Ian's original store was "repossessed" by the Gambino family, I suppose I can see probable cause for thinking he's guilty. But come on, if that is all of their evidence, then everyone who has ever been wronged in some way is guilty of crimes. xp Besides, it seems more likely that he simply disliked them for this injustice.
Thought #5: Meredith was hired specifically to retake Ian's original store. Isn't it possible that, as she was so new to her job, she may have overlooked something?
Thought #6: Why are they allowing Pbot to badger the witnesses?? Sasha was basically forced into saying it was possible that Ian knew what would happen. stressed
Thought #7: Wait, is Bucho the accuser? and what's with the video? Bucho was in charge of the investigation? Why's there a minute/frame missing in his video? It's possible this had nothing to do with the whole thing, but then again, a lot can happen in one minute....
Thought #8: I watch too much CSI. There's no way a fingerprint could survive a fire hot enough to melt that bottle. True, Ian *was* holding the bottle according to the plotline, but the fingerprint still couldn't have survived.
Thought #9: HOLD IT! Ian dropped the bottle while he was in the house *next* to the mansion, rescuing Sasha!! How could it have been found in the complete opposite place from where he was?!
Thought #10: How is it that Bucho could have videos of after the fire started, but not have videos of when it did start?
Thought #11: Why the sudden change of attitude? Bucho seems to have anger management issues. I wonder how his face looked during all this...
Onto my hugemongous conspiracy theory mad D
Bucho is the arsonist!
The story as I see it:
Halloween 2k4: We see the opening of G CORP, a place for research of some unknown type. Being head of security, Bucho sees the threat this poses, however he is supposed to be loyal to the Gambinos. So he takes on the form of one LabTechX to bring light onto the project. Only he doesn't manage to stop the Labtechs soon enough. During the Halloween bash, LabTechX is seen around the halls, but no Bucho, not until *after* the Silent Flash alarm.
I think he knew things were getting out of hand and he went against Johnny to ensure the zombies didn't leave the mansion. In other words, Bucho was the very one to raise the Silent Flash alarm!
Gambino knew this and fired him. Of course Bucho then got angry and soon after joined up with the Von Helsons. After the Annual Ball, and Gambino's tower was built, it is actually Bucho in the disguise on the clocktower, firing at Gambino! Think: he couldn't have been *in* the Gambino tower, everything *inside* was destroyed when it fell. And he most certainly wasn't *on* it, as only Gambino and his son were there! But yet, Bucho lived on, thinking his grudge against the family was now taken care of.
But then, to everyone's surprise, Gino miraculously washes ashore! Bucho had not finished his "job". Gino, who had no idea his father had fired Bucho lonng before, gladly went with Bucho to go home. Bucho knew he couldn't just take Gino out then and there, it would be all too obvious. So he waited.
Halloween 2k5:
A new year, a new party, all seems good. Except Bucho's nowhere to be found. Oh sure he greeted the guests on their way into the mansion, but where was he afterwards?? As Head of Security, he located an unoccupied room in the back of the mansion where no one would be, and he started a fire knowing full well it would burn out of control and also thinking Gino will never see it in time. As he made his way out and between the mansion and the little house Sasha and Gino were having dinner in, who does he see?
Ian. Looking for Sasha. Perfect!!
I present what I think may have happened in that one missing minute!!
Bucho: *staying out of view of cameras* Hey you! What are you doing?
Ian: Huh? Oh, uh, Bucho... I was... looking for Sasha there... I had something very urgent to tell her.
Bucho: Urgent huh? Go back that way and you can get in.
Ian: Really?? Hey thanks! You're not such a bad guy, Bucho! *runs off*
Bucho: *looks towards cameras* Perfect.
Bucho waits for a moment and then heads to the back of the house. When Ian drops the bottle, it rolls to the door. Bucho, in the shadows just outside, swipes it and heads off. Later on, he dusts the bottle for Ian's prints, then burns it himself to make it melt, then places the melted bottle in the back exit of the mansion to "prove" Ian was the one who started the fire.
